At any time during practice or 7 on 7
competition, a coach can call out “FANTASY”
followed by a number.

1 – Sack
1 – Re-route WR to the ground
2 – Interception*

* An INT during fantasy is rewarded with a Gatorade
If the defensive wins fantasy that
day, the participating players will be
rewarded at the following practice.
If the offense scores at any point
during the 7 on 7 they will be
rewarded at the following practice.

Team 1 vs. Team 2
QB’s will call offensive plays in Huddle
Huddle will be perfect
Huddle break will be loud with all teammates breaking on
SCORE
Team 1 then Team 2 will run a play and score in the end
zone with all players sprinting to where the ball carrier
has scored
Run or Pass plays can be called
After 3-4 attempts the teams will quickly meet to organize
a celebration that will be judged by all coaches
Team with best celebration wins Score Drill for the day
Coaches can participate for a change up or to get the
players excited

Tag your it
I believe in creating new and exciting ways to condition your team during practice.
I have gotten away from the traditional running at the end of practice, and now
found ways to create short 10 minute conditioning drills during practice. The
intensity is higher, and the results have been strong. The athletes feedback has
been amazing.

Tackling Circuits
.
Three
Stations
• Organized by defensive position group (DB’s, LB’s, DL)
• 2 Coaches at each group (Pair up the right coaches to the
drill)
• Make the stations competitive
– Blue Mat (Music with speakers to create loud
environment)
– Hawk Tackling (Shadowman)
– Open Field Tackling (Energetic Coaches Placed here)
Tackling Circuits
Blue Mat
•
The tackler will stand 1-2 yards away
from the ball carrier. . Having the players
too far apart will lead to possible injuries.
The ball carrier can also hold a hand
shield for safety. The coaching keys we
use for the tackler are:
•
Feet shoulder width apart
•
Body in a breakdown position
•
Lowering hips
•
Chest over knees and knees over toes
•
Keep eyes on the target, head up
•
Relax hands.

Hawk Tackling (Shadowman)
•
The tackler will start on knees
and tackle agility bag, while
rolling to ground.
•
The tackler will stand 3-5 yards
away from the ball
carrier. Having the players too
far apart will lead to possible
injuries. The non tackler will
hold an agility bag or half round
to his side.

Timed Transition
To prepare your athletes for the constant changes in the game we organize once
a week, a team session on defense where everything is extremely fast pace. 1015 Minute Segment
•
All Coaches have a predetermined role
•
All Players on the team have a role at all times
•
Script determines plays and situations
•
Goal line situations are intensified with speakers
and music in end zone to create environment
•
Transitions are treated like conditioning (Sprint
to next spot)
•
Add in kicking game to teach athletes subbing
patterns in game
