“CSI JERUSALEM”
Are you looking for a way to enhance your Lenten journey this year? If so, consider attending “CSI Jerusalem” on Sunday, March 15th at 6:30 PM at St. Barnabas Church.
Just as the popular “CSI” TV series, this presentation will look at the science behind the events of the crucifixion. Some of the topics covered will be:
The Roman practice of Crucifixion
Controversies of the cause of Jesus’ death and what really killed him
Resurrection of Jesus: a medical analysis of opposing theories
Medical examination & scientific analysis/controversies of the Shroud of Turin
See a life size replica of the Shroud of Turin and other artifacts
Relaxed presentation allowing time for questions
Plus much, more…
The program is presented by Dr. Chuck Dietzen, MD. Dr. Chuck is an engaging speaker who has led numerous mission trips to South American and Asia. He has met Pope John Paul II and worked with Mother Teresa. Dr. Chuck founded the organization “Timmy Global Health” whose mission is to expand access to
healthcare and empower students and volunteers to tackle today’s most pressing global health challenges.
Come join us for this insightful and informative presentation on the death of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Spring Sports Registrations ..Final day for sign-up is March 1st
On line Registration for Soccer, Track, Softball, Baseball and Spring Kickball will be open from February 1, 2015
thru March 1, 2015. (www.cyoarchindy.org) Participants must be members of St. Barnabas and have submitted a physical evaluation clearing them for sports activity. This notification is going out to all St. Barnabas
school families.
There has been a change made to the registration policy for all CYO sports at St. Barnabas. In the past, families were able to register their children for a particular sport through the Orgsonline.com system and render
payment for the fee associated with that particular sport AFTER the registration process had been completed.
Effective immediately, registrations will NOT be complete (registrations will be placed in “PENDING” status)
until FULL payment is made in the Orgsonline.com system. Payment will be made via electronic check withdrawal from your bank or via check/cash payment to Laura Bridgewater in the school office; unless a payment
arrangement has been approved by the Athletic Director, Tim Griffin. This will include the fee for the current
registration as well as ALL outstanding balances that have incurred from unpaid fees for prior registrations.
Once the FULL balance has been paid or a payment plan has been established, the registration will move from
“PENDING” status to “ACTIVE” status. (Please note, your child will not be able to participate in any evaluations or practices and will not be placed on a team until the registration is moved to the “ACTIVE” status). Registrations after March 1, if accepted, will incur a $20 Late Fee due to CYO team entry deadlines.

The Indianapolis Brass Choir will be playing a concert in commemoration of the 50 th Anniversary of the
groundbreaking of the St. Barnabas Catholic Church on March 8, 2015 at 3 PM. The groundbreaking for
the original church occurred on March 7, 1965.
50 years ago Fr John Sciarra was assigned the task of opening a new church in the cornfields on the
southside of Indianapolis! Fifty years later, the Indianapolis Brass Choir, (IBC) will commemorate this
groundbreaking. The IBC is a large brass ensemble of about 30+ people who volunteer their time, talent,
and effort, without pay, to provide music for area churches and to aid local charities. The Indianapolis
Brass Choir has raised over $80,000 for charities since its founding.
Founded by Delbert A. Dale in 1986, it has a membership of professional, semi-professional musicians, and
serious amateurs who meet for weekly rehearsals and perform eight to twelve concerts a year. The choir
includes trumpets, trombones, horns, euphoniums, tubas, and percussion.
Join us on March 8th for the event. A freewill offering will be collected at intermission, and the money collected given to a charity designated by the church.
For more information you can contact St Barnabas, attention: Dan Bailey at music@stbindy.org or call 317882-0724 ex 238, or view the IBC website at http://www.indybrasschoir.com
