Blood Pressure Screenings

Knowing your numbers is an important part of maintaining your
heart health. These free Blood Pressure Screenings are provided
by Barnabas Health Homecare and The Stroke Center at Saint
Barnabas Medical Center. Registration is not required.

This program is designed for individuals with Parkinson's Disease
and other neuromuscular/movement disorders.

If you are one of the millions of people suffering from pain in your
hip, it might be time to consider joint surgery. Join Timothy
Henderson, MD, a sport medicine fellowship trained and board certified orthopaedic surgeon with the Joint Institute at Saint Barnabas,
to learn more about the benefits of Anterior Hip Replacement, a
minimally invasive approach to hip surgery.

Where is the sugar in our diet? How did it get there? Which are
the healthier, more energizing options to eat? Join Stacey Pinke,
MS, RD, from the Siegler Center for Integrative Medicine at the
Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center, for a review the types of
sugars found in food.

Do you want to enjoy life fully right now? Join Stacey Pinke, MS,
RD, from the Siegler Center for Integrative Medicine at the
Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center, to explore ways to spice
up your life with food, creativity, joy and laughter. We'll discuss the
abundance of delicious foods which energize us, creative ways to
seek inspiration, and fun ways to work out. Let's create a community of support for one another.

Free Skin Cancer Screenings
The Melanoma Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and local
dermatologists will provide free skin cancer screenings in May and
June. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, especially those
with abnormal-looking or changing moles. Please note screenings
will be held at the Atkins-Kent Building, 101 Old Short Hills
Road, Suite 401, West Orange, NJ (not the MetroWest JCC). An
appointment is required; for available dates and times, please call

NewBornMom Breastfeeding Solutions has provided
help to moms and babies for over 20 years. Through
private, one-to-one consultation, an IBCLC-certified
lactation consultant can help prevent problems and
provide new moms with the breastfeeding experience they

Infant CPR for Friends and Family
Saturday, May 2 or 16; 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Sunday, May 10; 12:30 to 5:30 pm
When performed correctly, CPR can save a child’s life by restoring
breathing and circulation until advanced life support can be given by health
care providers. This two-hour, entry-level course offers instruction by The
CPR Training Center in child and infant CPR as well as foreign body airway
obstruction (choking) training. Registration is required by calling The CPR
Training Center: 973.926.7407 (fee).
Meet the Doula
Monday, May 4; 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Birth is not something that should be feared, but rather looked
forward to with anticipation and excitement. A labor support doula is a
knowledgeable and experienced guide for childbirth. Join experienced
doulas to learn more about the services and support they provide.

New Moms’ Circle and Breastfeeding Support
Mondays; 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Women’s Health/Parent Education at Saint Barnabas offers this free,
weekly support group that is led by a licensed clinical psychologist
specializing in post partum adjustment. New moms along with their babies
are welcome to attend occasionally or each week. A Breastfeeding Support
Group follows. Please register online in the event of a cancellation (you

Mommies Moods
Fridays; 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
This professionally led support group for new moms, focuses on mother
care rather than child care. Discussions address issues of anxiety,
sadness, irritability, and feeling scared and overwhelmed by the transition
