This syllabus is provided as a foundation to our senior Tae Kwon-Do syllabus. Junior grades are listed from white to brown and are recognised at club level only. The senior TAGB Tae Kwon-Do syllabus starts when the student has completed the junior martial art syllabus, or when the instructor feels the student can successfully start the full TAGB syllabus at 10th Kup. Junior gradings are typically held twice a year, in April and October. This grading structure enables the students to learn in a less pressured setting allowing them to explore Martial Arts through games, skills and drills. All students are expected to learn the terminology presented in this book with parents assistance as a homework element. This typically takes 5 to 10 minutes 2 or 3 times a week. Students are tested weekly. An example of a good time for a student to look at this homework is in the advert breaks between TV shows. When you come to lessons please remember to bring with you the following items: Your belt, this book, (as it contains your attendance card), and your focus pad. If you did not purchase your focus pad at enrolment time you will be required to purchase one within your first 3 months of training Focus pads are for use in the class and they can also be used for practice at home. Please bring a drink in a sealable (not screw top) bottle. Please try to be at lessons on time as late arrivals interrupt the class I hope that both you and your child have a long and enjoyable association with Martial Arts and Combined Self Defence.
