YOUTH FOR CHRIST
TEAMS
WELCOME
The Youth for Christ Missions Teams & Artists are a collective of
young leaders that are passionately committed to taking Good
News relevantly to every young person in Britain. This year we
are excited to launch our newest touring team The Sense, an
electrifying new band made up of talented young musicians with
a heart for music, mission, and evangelism.
The Sense will work alongside Stance, YFC’s urban Dance Crew,
Nomad, our energetic touring Cage Football Team, Chip K, a
musician and gospel communicator, and Happi, a captivating
motivational speaker, gospel artist and rapper.
British Youth for Christ (BYFC) is part of Youth for Christ
International - a Christian charity established in over 100
countries around the world. BYFC can be seen serving churches
and the local community in sports arenas, secondary schools,
inner-city urban centres, skate parks, young offenders’ institutes
and local church youth groups. Anywhere you find young
people - we’ll be there connecting with them on their level and
communicating the Good News; every month we engage with
over 250,000 young people across Britain.
Our teams and artists are available to come to your school, youth
club, church or conference for anything from a day up to a week.
They all receive a high level of training in evangelism and youth
work from Youth for Christ and external organisations, and are
fully DBS checked.
We are excited about the potential of joining you in your mission
and hope that you will find the information you need to help you
make a decision about whether to host us in your location.
We look forward to hearing from you.

“Taking Good News
relevantly to every young
person in Britain”
@YFCSENSE
The Sense, YFC’s touring band uses music to
reach young people with the gospel message
in a dynamic and relevant way.
Travelling throughout the UK and abroad, The Sense visit schools
and churches, performing at youth events and concerts, working
in a variety of situations. As well as performing their own original
music and cover songs, the band is passionate about spending
time with young people, listening to their stories and helping
them understand more about what it means to be a Christian
today.
Schools often see the benefit of using The Sense in lessons and
assemblies to enhance the spiritual and moral development of
pupils. The opportunity for students to explore areas of belief and
faith in a non-threatening way, to interact with band members
and to ask their own questions is seen to be of great value.
Where possible, The Sense likes to spend a week in a school
allowing the opportunity to deliver a full programme of lessons
and assemblies. Because of the amount of PA, lighting and
video equipment that the band uses, a hall or large room is an
ideal base, where pupils can be brought down in different class
combinations or year groups.
Recognising that learning is embedded
in experience, The Sense provides
presentations that promote experiential
learning and the development of skills across
a broad range of contexts.
With an emphasis on live music, The Sense deliver multi-media
lessons that engage pupils across all year groups using a range
of teaching methods which promote different styles of learning
and actively encourage participation and involvement.
The Sense delivers a range of sessions including RE, PSE and
Music lessons, or any combination to enable cross-curricular
activity covering areas such as Social Studies, Citizenship,
Religious and Moral Education, Expressive/Creative Arts etc.
Music workshops and performances are also combined
with large screen video presentation to heighten impact and
relevance. The Sense aim to create an environment where pupils
can enjoy their learning experience, ask their own questions and
begin to make sense of the world around them.
@YFCNOMAD
Nomad are a high energy touring team
focused on using a dynamic blend of cage
football and relational youth work in order to
engage with young people
The Dutch style ‘panna’ football utilised by Nomad is a highly
effective, versatile tool for sports ministry. The 2 metre high steel
cage allows the team to connect with young people in a variety of
settings whilst remaining relevant.
The cage can be set up in any school hall or playground; field or
courtyard; or an area of flat land within estates – both indoors
and outdoors. The cage is a circular shape and up to 10 metres in
diameter. It needs to be set up on a solid surface and is made of
galvanised steel. If setting up indoors, consideration of damage
to flooring should be taken into account.
Wherever the cage is set up, it creates interest, curiosity and
excitement. Young and old alike want to see what the Cage is
about. Those with a love of football are eager to get inside and
play, and it’s exciting and engaging for all whether you’re playing
or watching. You are sure to develop a crowd!
Cage football is different to normal 11-a-side or 5-a-side
football; it requires a range of skills, but our FA trained coaches
will help your young people to develop, whatever standard they
may be.
Nomad primarily work in schools, although
they also undertake missions with churches
and in a detached setting.
In schools Nomad deliver a range of cross-curricular lessons
focusing on the values and lifestyle of Christianity. The lessons
make use of a mix of learning styles in order to provide an
interactive and enjoyable learning experience.
The team will lead PE, RE, PSHCE or Citizenship based lessons,
and within these they will teach young people about values
in sport and how they can apply to life. They can also lead
assemblies with a range of activities including ‘keep em up’
competitions, spoken word poetry and real life stories. The team
are also happy to be involved in your after school activities and
will often be found playing five-a-side at lunch and break.
@YFCSTANCE
Stance are YFC’s touring Dance Crew. They
use dance to connect with young people in
a dynamic way in a whole host of settings,
working excellently as a gateway with young
people to share the gospel.
Stance use unique and innovative styles of dance and Hip-Hop in
all that they do. They perform throughout the UK and offer a wide
range of workshops and performances which work excellently in
schools and churches or as part of community days, festivals and
events. Stance are passionate about inspiring and encouraging
young people to use their skills and talents.
Dance is a fantastic way to create a buzz amongst young people
and brings people together from different backgrounds and
walks of life. Furthermore the atmosphere that it creates
enables team members to share their testimonies or give a short
inspirational message.
Stance can perform their high energy and infectious routines to
many different audiences. They can develop workshops, lessons,
assemblies and performances according to your needs and work
with you to fulfil your aims and objectives.
Stance offer a full schools programme,
delivering a variety of cross-curricular
lessons focusing on the values and lifestyle of
Christianity.
The lessons make use of a variety of learning styles in order to
provide an interactive and enjoyable learning experience. Stance
are eager to work with young people, encouraging learning and
enjoyment through participation.
The team has experience in leading PE, RE, PSHE and Citizenship
based lessons. They can run dynamic assemblies, using fun
interactive activities and an inspirational message. Stance can
lead extra-curricular clubs, as well as running workshops during
break and lunchtimes. The team pride themselves in having
an extensive selection of high quality, proven schools material
available. To see an example of Stance’s school lesson plans
please contact the Stance team leader.
Stance can offer dance workshops for all ages. The sessions
start with warm-up exercises and then proceed to the teaching of
high energy age-appropriate dance routines. They will finish by
allowing the young people to ask any questions they might have.
Stance can also offer a more intense dance workshop for higher
ability students.

PRACTICALITIES
So that you can get the most out of your booking there are a few
practical things to take into consideration. Prior to confirming
a booking we will send a full fact sheet that will contain the
essential information that will form part of the booking terms
and conditions.
The Timetable:
When putting together the timetable for your booking please
consider how best you can use the teams / artists; typically they
are involved in schools work during the week, as well as running
evening sessions, workshops, detached sessions and more.
Every booking is different and we will gladly tailor a timetable
to suit your needs. Please contact us for up to date lesson plan
examples.
Accommodation :
All bookings longer than 1 day will require the teams or artists
to be suitably accommodated. The following is provided to help
make the team’s time with you as comfortable as possible. Team
members require accommodation and food for the duration of a
booking and need to be placed with hosts who are happy and able
to provide the following:
- Rooms: We would ask that team members be provided
with their own suitable bed in a room of their own. This
room can be shared with other team members but not a
member of the host family. Each team member needs their
own bed.
- Meals: The teams / artists typically require breakfast, a
packed lunch and a hot evening meal for each day of the
booking. However this can vary due to their busy schedules.
- Laundry: Due to the amount of sports / performance
activity that the teams / artists will be involved with, it is
likely the team will need to do some washing during their
stay and would appreciate the opportunity to do so.
