Send front cover with address only. 1 2 PRESIDENT’S LETTER I would like to start by thanking Paul Mohagen for his past time and effort as the NDABA President. His shoes will be tough to fill! Thank you Paul! I would also like to thank Lana Ose and Verla Rostad for taking over the secretary and treasurer positions. Their roles play a big part of the association’s success. I would like to remind everyone about the upcoming convention on March 18-19, 2010 at the Doublewood Inn in Fargo. The PPG, Business in the 21st Century, seminar is also being held. The cost of the seminar is included with full payment to the NDABA convention. If you choose to attend only the seminar, there will be a $180.00 fee per person attending. Save yourself some bucks and attend the convention and attend the seminar for free! The seminar registration is included with the NDABA convention information. More input from our members is needed for us to continue with our magazine. If anyone has something they would like to have included, send a copy to Clyde Nelson, editor, or myself, and we will submit it for publication. As convention chairman I would like to take this opportunity to invite all of you: auto body owners, managers, employees, suppliers, manufactures and your families to this year’s convention. Scott Heintzman, Convention Chair Featured Speakers Carl Berg Carl Berg has been a Safety Consultant with Workforce Safety and Insurance for almost two years and previously worked as a Safety Consultant with the Motor Carriers Assoc., Implement Dealers Assoc., and the Auto Dealers Associations of North Dakota for several years. Don Pfaff Don Pfaff has been with Workforce Safety and Insurance for more then three years and prior to that he had his own consulting business. In our presentation we will be discussing two new safety programs that WSI rolled out in January of 2009. These programs can possibly earn your companies discounts on your Workers Compensation Annual premiums if all the elements of the programs are completed. We will also discuss some OSHA rules and regulations that may have an effect on your own types of business. Christine Gauthier, SPHR Christine is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. She attended MN State University Moorhead and has 20+ years of human resource experience with Meritcare Medical Center and Cargill Inc. Christine will be reviewing primary functions of human resources from hire to retire. Keith Hinnenkamp Keith is an Environmental Scientist with the North Dakota Department of Health in the Division of Air Quality in Bismarck. He will be on hand to provide us with a summary of the regulations controllimg air emissons from paint stripping and miscellaneous surface coatings operations. Better known as NESHAP Subpart HHHHHH Final rule. Although you may not always agree with officers and members, don’t hold private conversations while they are speaking. 3. Accept the challenge if appointed to an office – even if it means a little extra work. 4. If appointed to a committee, or if not appointed, don’t get sore – there are still other ways to have a positive impact. 5. Be willing to voice opinions in a constructive manner – don’t wait until after the meeting when it’s too late. 6. Join in when others roll up their sleeves. 7. Pay dues on a timely basis. 8. Put extra effort into finding new members. 9. Be sociable when attending the meetings. You never know what valuable information other members may be willing to share. 10.Share your ideas – the benefits will be worth any extra work they may entail. 11. Spread the word about the organization to non-members. Given the right information about the organization, they will believe in it too. Working together in the most important work we do. Clyde sells the ads, edits the information, finds articles and proofs the magazine. He needs the organization to send articles and info to put in the magazine. Please help him keep our magazine going!!! The deadline for the next issue is February 15 and it will be out by March 1st. Because of other commitments Paul Mohagen gave his resignation at the end of the meeting and turned the gavel over to Eddie Barnhardt. We thank Paul for all he has done for the organization.
