AR BR EB RA Trustee-elect Y CEL n Friday, August 7th, 180 people came into the library’s Morris Meeting Room to cast their vote on the proposed 2016 operating budget. 151 gave a “yay” and 29 a “nay”, resulting in an 84% approval margin on the $4,351,401 tax levy which was 1.25% more than last year’s. Trustee-elect Victoria Kahn begins her 4-year term on January 1, 2016. The library board and staff appreciate the community’s support and, with the budget in place, look forward to another year of providing the high quality library service our residents deserve, expect and utilize. Y Voters Approve 2016 Library Budget and One Trustee Elected TE AT Y O U R LI Twenty-five works by local artists that celebrate the historic sites, natural resources, native inhabitants, and rich cultural diversity of our beloved Town have been selected by a panel of judges for display in the library’s Medelle Hegeler Semerjian Gallery. The five winners of the postcard contest will be announced and light refreshments will be served. Join us as we recognize the town’s 375th anniversary through art and history. She will discuss why people with dementia act and respond the way they do; how we can improve communication and interactions with them; and how to plan for what happens next. There were Confederate ships within eight miles of Montauk, anti-war protests, and a little remembered draft riot in 1863. Mei Rui, piano Sunday, October 4, 3:00 p.m. Mei Rui is an international prize-winning pianist, chamber musician, and teacher who has performed concertos and appeared as a soloist to great acclaim in China, the U.S., Canada, and Europe. A Bronze prizewinner in the 2015 World Piano Competition, she represented the United States and performed Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No. 3 in D Minor with the Cincinnati Symphony. See Casey Fehn, In the book Name of the Star, main character Rory moves to England for boarding school where she witnesses a Jack the Ripper copycat murder. She soon becomes part of an interesting investigation team. Learn more about the real Jack the Ripper investigation and try to figure out a library mystery using clues.
