TAS™ - Travel Advisory Service
FlyteComm’s Travel Advisory HOW IT WORKS System™ (TAS) is a web browser-based TAS takes real-time information from a broad range of data feeds including real-time FAA flight application that provides real-time situational tracking, worldwide flight schedules, GIS mapping, incident and emergency flight status, and opt-in awareness to government and law-enforcement personnel itineraries and missions. TAS then agencies that need to track flights, participating aggregates and cross-references the information elements, applies patented business logic and personnel, incidents and emergencies relating operational rules, and presents situational views, to air travel. alerts, and reports as specified by individual user. TAS tracks, displays, alerts, and reports on any DECISION SUPPORT commercial or selected general aviation flight When an incident or emergency occurs, participating departments, regions, and even other agencies as well as opt-in personnel who are traveling. receive a real-time situational view. This improves It also archives data that can help with resource planning, data sharing, decision support, emergency response, and real-time reporting. oversight, coordination, and response time. TAS also improves resource management and back-up coverage. By retaining travel plans and other historical data, TAS helps agencies with cost projections, detailed analysis and control of overtime. Notifications and Alerts Flight Information Display (FID) Learn more by calling 650.404.8100 x 5012 SITUATIONAL AWARENESS Government agencies that use TAS say that their number one day-to-day use is real-time situational awareness and location of traveling personnel. This knowledge can protect a mission as well as improve efficiencies. Flight Delays. Your agency has planned a mission that requires personnel from multiple cities to meet at a single location and a critical member of the team is on a plane that has been re-routed while in flight. Typically this information is not available to mission control until the affected traveler lands and calls in, which is often too late to effectively make alternative arrangements. When a schedule is going to be missed, TAS automatically Airport Delays alerts the responsible parties. This allows mission control the time to take corrective action and manage substitutions, adjustments, and the operational logistics caused by change. By the time the traveler lands, mission plans have already been adjusted and notifications sent. Incidents and Emergencies. Whether it is a passenger with a medical problem, a plane that needs fuel, or a problem with the weather, incidents cause flight delays every day. Emergencies, on the other hand, are less frequent but much more serious. Usually they threaten passengers or national security. FlyteComm uses a traffic light metaphor when it sends a visual notification alert. Yellow Alerts are for incidents that impact travel schedules. Red Alerts indicate emergency situations. When an incident or emergency occurs, TAS displays the emergency on the Aircraft Situational Display (ASD) and also sends an immediate visual notification alert via email and a wireless handheld mobile device. Each user selects the type of alert and mobile device that he/she wants to use. Logistics. Getting information about a flight or the personnel on board can take hours if going through traditional travel management companies. TAS refreshes its data every 60 seconds. This means that TAS users can check the real-time status of any flights and personnel on board right from his/her own desktop PC. Aircraft Situational Display (ASD) REAL-TIME REPORTS Using a series of user selectable criteria, TAS can provide Rapid Response reports based on such elements as date range, specific flight or airline, traveler name, airport, mission number and more without having to go through multiple agencies and organizations. Reports can be viewed on screen, printed or exported for use in other applications such as Microsoft Excel and Crystal Reports. CUSTOM VIEWS Real-time Reports The TAS interface was designed to reduce visual clutter and make it easy for untrained users to quickly see what is relevant. The application comes standard with multiple map format types as well as weather overlays, real-time and static data, and a tabular form that can be sorted by column heading. Users can set filters that customize their graphical interface. The application works on a series of layers. The user decides which layers are displayed. SITE AND APPLICATION SECURITY FlyteComm’s data, application and site security meet the requirements demanded by its Federal Law Enforcement customers. When appropriate, specific information is available. USER SECURITY Users logon to TAS using RSA ID. Data access is controlled by the user’s access rights, which are established by each To learn more about TAS or arrange for a personal demonstration, call 650.404.8100 x 5012 agency’s administrator. Users have secure access through modern password protection practices that follow NIST recommended standards and policies.
