Well club members what a fantasc day we had
at the 84th Annual Waroona Show. We had a
great roll up of members with more engines
than I have seen here before.
Those enjoying the day were as follows >

It was good to see Don Rush and his wife Shirley
there, with Don adversing the club shirt in the
public area.
Hope the weather is as good for the next lot of
shows, and everybody enjoys themselves. Till

John’s Jottings
Dardanup BULL AND BARREL SAT 11TH Oct.
A nice dry cloudy day with some sunshine later. Don Brett had got things sorted, we even had a sign
to say we were sponsored by Bunbury Machinery but in the programme other sponsors appeared.
The site was good we had no problems putting the fence posts in. Most exhibitors were able to park
close by but we were not allowed to close down till 5pm.
It was good to see several engines in working condition and running well along side well painted
exhibits also running well.
John Ayers had a sweet running Petter twin driving a Billabong pump next to John Plummer's
Ronaldson and Tippett out for a first time in new ownership. John also had a Villiers seven and a
Magic ignition engine which had a few scratching their heads.
Great to see the worlds best tank driver Norm Green along after his recent operation, with a Villiers/
Finbury pump and a little Cooper.
John Houston had a OHV Moffat Virtue and a smooth running side valve model.
Alan Staines complete with a 6hp Lister diesel which ran all day.
Man in charge Don Brett had a nice running Crossley driving a Billabong pump.
Alan Dhu plus grandson Jacob ran a Lister J model with a very nice pump with coloured water. Not to
be out done John Harbeck was equipped with a Lister junior driving another pump.
Alan ‘horrible’ Horridge came along with two engines. One of the wheels fell off one on the way so he
had his Moffatt Virtue running all day, after a group starting session.
J. C, had a very noisy Villiers two stroke which started easily several times during the day, a mark 40
Villiers and his Sundial which still needs a bit of work but ran all day.
The tent was well used and thanks for the support from Ruth, Olive, and Hazel plus her lovely sponge .
cake enjoyed by everyone.
Brian Maynard in his usual happy style was a great help to J.C.
A very happy group of folk who enjoyed the day out with a deal of help, advice, and friendship.
John Ayers has found out a good coil makes his Allis tractor start easily. The spare mag was a good
buy at the Bird Park sale.
Alan Horrible has found some more chewing gum to put the wheel back onto his trolley so it may go
to maggot river show.
Busselton Car and engine show is on again on Sunday 30th November the usual site all welcome, proceeds to charity.
John Ayers is a generous chap he was conned into buying Alan Horrible an ice cream, Alan also got
two pieces of Hazel’s sponge cake. I hear that Roland had a few problems with his water container at
Waroona. Lift your game lad.
Alan Staines is in need of a carby for a Moffat Virtue. He has a complete engine minus carburettor.

MARGARET RIVER SHOW 18TH OCT.
They all declined to do the report so here goes.
Captain Elwyn put the frighteners on us with his noise metre, most engines were under 86 but
the Villiers two stroke went 105 db.
We all had a good day especially John Ayres. It was worth going to see his smile as he drove
the Allis in the Grand Parade.
A very small crowd but we put on a good display with Elwyn and his cow Buttercup.
John Houston was a quiet player with his Moffat Virtues running well. John Plummer had an
easy day with his mk 40 Villiers and his Sundial. John Ayres had the Allis and a Petter av1.
John Harbeck came with a R&T N type and a very nice Cooper which ran well after a little fiddle. Alan Horidge got the Moffat running with a bit of help but even with a belt start from the
tractor no go from the Rosebery. Brian Maynard was a great help to JC and a source of
knowledge on the weather and tent erection.
Several exhibitors were disappointed when Hazel Plummer came with no sponge cake. John
was the most numbers in names and with three Sundials the most popular engines. We had no
rain but a bit cool, kept the jackets on. We missed Roland and George Reynolds on a good day
out.
