DDC 4, 6th edition NSC Driver Safety Training The most practical driver safety program to reinforce best practices Course description DDC 4 provides key understanding, skills and techniques to avoid collisions, reduce traffic violations and change driver behaviors and attitudes. DDC 4 offers the greatest flexibility for organizations who would like to customize their training program in session blocks. The course is available in English and Spanish and can be tailored to address local driving and road conditions, as well as company policy. Students will learn coping techniques for dealing with speeding, distracted driving, impaired driving, and hazardous traffic conditions and more. The result will be a more responsible driver who understands best practices to prevent injury and death while driving a motor vehicle. Course features • Blended learning methods to encourage greater student participation, small group interaction and improved learner retention • Multimedia presentation featuring hazard condition re-enactments and driving scenarios to provide students the knowledge for real-life situations • Multiple testing strategies, knowledge checks and a final exam to ensure that participants reach a desired level of competency • Six 10-minute supplemental modules companies can opt to teach based on safety issues or incident trends Only certified DDC Instructors can teach DDC 4 - Your staff instructor must successfully complete the 2-day DDC 4 Instructor Course. During the Instructor Course, the candidate instructor will learn the specific DDC course content. Each course is designed, written and reviewed by leading safety experts, driver education professionals, statisticians and research analysts, and an international advisory committee. Instructor Manual – Fully-scripted with easy-to-follow “What to Do/What to Say” format, facilitation methods and session objectives. Also includes six supplemental 10-minute lessons for organizations that elect to customize the course. Topics include vehicle maintenance, inspection procedures, distracted and impaired driving, parking lot hazards, handling vehicle breakdowns, and roadway markings. Teaching Kit – The multi-media video presentation creates consistency in course delivery and facilitation skills. In addition to the instructional content, it contains five videos and animated graphics addressing distracted driving, impaired driving, speeding and more. Plus, eight hazard recognition scenarios for participant analysis, awareness raising and skills development and group discussions. Videos are property of the National Safety Council and a video lease must be renewed annually in order to continue teaching the course.
