Qualified specialist teachers and coaches provide a range of sporting and creative activities for 3 weeks, for St Edmund’s pupils and pupils from other schools. In the spacious grounds of St Edmund’s School, SummerFest is a real treat for the holidays. Book early to guarantee a place on a course of your choice. Exploring papers and materials to produce artistic results. Art – Something out of Nothing Projects using recycled materials eg newspapers, old fabrics, plastic packaging. Art – Canvas Creations From pencil through to paint. Developing skills using different media and producing a beautiful masterpiece on canvas. Textiles at The Fabric Funhouse Let your imagination loose on a variety of textiles. Come and join us in designing and making your own bags, puppets, friendship bracelets, bunting, beanie friends and much more. It’ll have you in stitches. Pottery for All Come and learn some new skills – have fun with clay whether you’re a beginner or top potter! With local professional ceramicist, Gemma Cohen. Very popular so book early. 4 Drama Take part in an exciting programme of improvisation activities with opportunities to perform script and play lots of drama games. Come and improve your drama skills in a wonderfully supportive atmosphere which leads to a display for family and friends at the end of the week. Not to be missed. Music for Fun Creative and fun music workshops for all, using all sorts of instruments and objects such as brooms, bin lids and saucepans; ending with an exciting ‘stomp-like’ performance. Dance for Fun and Fitness Professional teachers will bring POP and MUSICAL THEATRE tunes together with warm-ups, stretching and fun choreography, culminating in a performance to family and friends on last day. Go for Golf Develop and improve your golf skills with PGA professional. Own clubs not necessary but helpful. Beginners welcome. Football Crazy With FA qualified coaches providing expert coaching and including a mini ‘Tournament’. A week of great fun whilst learning new skills. Golf ‘Tour’ Playing at a different golf club Match Point Tennis Our professional coaches will provide three outstanding weeks of enjoyment, competition and tennis tuition. Hockey Hot Shots NEW FOR 2014 Alex Thakore, National League player and coach delivers a fun, action packed learning environment tailored for all abilties. Learn and develop your hit, flick, drag and dribble, and enjoy being part of the team by becoming a Hockey Hot Shot! 3-in-1 A combination of Martial Arts, gymnastics and swimming with expert coaches and teachers including David Finch from Matt Fiddes Martial Arts Schools. each day with a PGA professional. This week is for the serious golfer who has his/ her own golf clubs. There will be an extra £35 charge for this to supplement green fees etc. Cycling Qualified cycling instructors and coaches organise fun cycling activities including rides along the Crab and Winkle route. Own bike and helmet essential. Secure overnight storage available if required. Touch Rugby NEW FOR 2014 Ross Comfort, Gravesend RFU 1st team player, coaches this fast, simple and exciting game that promotes the fundamental skills of running, handling, evasion and support play, while developing basic principles of attack and defence. Fun for all abilities. 5 Terms and conditions 1. Payment of the £50 non-refundable deposit per child per course is regarded as the acceptance of the booking conditions. Receipt of your booking form and deposit will be followed by our confirmation. 2. All balances on bookings must be paid by 7 July 2014. For bookings after that date, we require payment in full. If full payment is not received by the commencement of the course, the place cannot be guaranteed. 3. If a booking is cancelled you must immediately inform us. Unless written notification of cancellation is received, a booking will stand. All cancellations will be acknowledged by us and are subject to the following charges:Non-refundable deposit before start: Deposit Between 1 month and 1 week: 50% charge Less than one week: 75% charge Pre-booked packed lunches available 4. All courses and conditions are subject to change according to weather, programme requirements and other considerations. 5. In rare circumstances it may be necessary to cancel course arrangements. You will then have the choice of transferring to another course or receiving a full refund. 6. We reserve the right to exclude or refuse any person at any time prior to or during SummerFest if, in our opinion, that person is not compatible with the safety, general enjoyment or objective of the course/scheme. 7. We do not accept liability for personal injury to, or death of, any participant with the exception of those events covered by our Public Liability insurance. We do not accept liability for the loss of, or damage to, any property belonging to, or travelling with, a participant. We do not accept financial liability for losses or additional expense due to sickness, weather, strikes, riots, war, quarantine or any other cause. 8. In normal course the organiser accepts responsibility for unaccompanied children between 9.50am and 4.10pm. Whilst children will never be abandoned outside of those times, the organisers must be informed of exceptional circumstances for which an additional charge may be levied. A place is only guaranteed on receipt of the full balance. What you need to know • Children to arrive at the school for 10.00am and finish by 4.00pm daily. • Subject to availability, a Day Visitor facility may be offered at £32 per day, strictly by arrangement with the SummerFest Manager. • £50 deposit per child per course is required when booking. • All of our courses are covered by public liability insurance. • There will be a discount of 10% for groups of children (3 or more) from the same club or team booking on any of our 6 specialised courses. Please send the group of forms together and we will adjust your invoices accordingly. • A family discount of 10% will also be available on bookings for 2 or more children from the same family. Just tick the box on the booking form.
