Pops at the Kato returns under the creative direction
of Brad Shermock. When he’s not playing in the Mankato Symphony, Brad is lead trumpet for the Doc
Severinsen Big Band. He’s also shared the stage and
recorded with Prince, Chaka Kahn, Franki Valli, Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Woody Hermann, Mint Condition, Jack Jones, Donny Osmond, Trisha Yearwood,
Jordin Sparks, Reba McIntyre, Kenny Loggins, Sheila
E, Billy Ray Cyrus, and others too numerous to list.
Brad has chosen some of his favorite performers for
this series-artists you are sure to love. If you’re not a
fan yet, you will be. All shows are held in the beautiful and historic Kato Ballroom.

by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Fletcher

met with acclaim from critics worldwide since his Carnegie Hall debut at age 19. Equally at home in the
Minnesota Orchestra and at the Dakota Jazz Club, Lazarus is a versatile artist second to none. Backed by a
world class combo and vocalist, Lazarus’s distinctive
blend of lounge/exotica and funk fired jazz will keep
you on the edge of your seat. Lazarus performed as a
guest artist with the Mankato Symphony in 2012 and
