LOOKING DOWN THE ROAD: This period, June through August will be a little rough, having to move my parents, my focus will be on getting them moved and settled. August 4 will be a cruise to the Illinois Railroad Museum in Union, Illinois. Union, Illinois is about 75 miles from Waukesha. The museum hosts a Car/Truck show that draws approximately 400 vehicles. Admission to the museum and car show is $5.00 for car, driver and passenger. The museum is a big boy's dream. There is a one to one scale train layout with classic cars displayed all around. Multiple trains will be running on the 5 mile main line and 2-3 trolleys on the loop. These trains and trolleys give free rides to the attendees. We will be leaving at 7am and stopping for breakfast at the Blue Bay restaurant in Mukwonago, then going down I-43 to highway 120 to Lake Geneva, south into Illinois on Illinois high way 47 to Highway 176 west 3 miles to Union, Illinois. Pack a lunch, the concession stand is busy and there is plenty of space for a picnic. We will leave when the fun meter is pegged, (around 2:00) and will stop on the way home for something cold. Picnic and Auction will be September 8 and same time and location as past years. Bring a dish to pass the club provides the meat and beverage. Bring your trash to treasures, to be auctioned off with the proceeds donated to charity. More details will be provided as we get closer to the date.
