Students will learn about academic resources, find their way around campus, and learn about immigration regulations regarding work, full-time study, and travel. International students will explore the St. Louis area for groceries, shopping, cuisine and religious services. Saints Say It ABAC - The academic building, CSE - The Center for Student Engagement Add/Drop Deadline - Dawg Pound - This Anheuser-Busch Academic Center, which connects Reid Hall and Kernaghan Hall. It’s also the location for faculty offices within the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, and School of Education. Students can choose to add a course or drop a course before 5 PM, September 2, with no penalty. CAB - Campus Activities Board is a student organization that creates events and activities to meet the interests of student at Maryville through their Comedy, Daytime, Films, Live Performance, Off-Campus, Traditions, and Weekend committees. Be sure to stop by events throughout the year! Canvas - Canvas is a component of the Portal that lists each of your courses and has all of your class information. You can view your grades, professor’s notes, and academic updates. You can turn in and complete assignments and work collaboratively with peers. Canvas has a free mobile app that you can use to access and participate in your courses. This is where you can rent games for free, grab some fresh popcorn, hang out, or study. Also come here to sign up for an organization or create your very own! is our student section in the Simon Athletic Center. Students sit, stand, cheer, and celebrate our Saints here! DUC - The Donius University Center is located at the front of campus, where you can find the CSE (see above), University Bookstore, ATM, Student Life offices, lockers, LJ’s, Louie’s, and plenty of places to hang out or study. LJ’s – The name is short for Louie Junior, one of our mascots. LJ’s is fashioned after a sports lounge with 19 large-screen TVs, Buzztime Trivia, dart boards, couches, and a performance area. It’s a favorite spot for students to meet, talk, and have fun! Louie’s Cafe – Named after Maryville’s mascot and adjacent to LJ’s, Louie’s Cafe is in the Donius University Center with Pub-style fare. Louie’s is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings after 7 PM beginning 9/1 . MAPP - Maryville Academic Planning and Progress report is used to see what classes you have completed and what courses you still need to take for your degree. You can access your MAPP through the Portal. Course Withdrawal - You can chose to withdraw from a course and must complete and submit the signed course withdrawal form by 5 PM, November 11. 27 Saints Say It MSG - Maryville Student Government is the liaison between the student body and the administration that brings positive change to campus by addressing student needs and concerns. If you have a concern or question, stop by our office located in the Student Activities Council Office in the Donius University Center. OneCard - This is your Student ID. You can load money onto your Maryville OneCard that can be used around campus. It can be used to purchase items from the University Bookstore, grocery items from Louie’s Market, a latte from Kaldi’s, or food from Gander Dining Hall or Louie’s. Pass/No Pass - During the semester of a course, students can elect to change the letter grade to Pass/No Pass. This can be done for a maximum of two courses that are not required for any major or minor. The deadline for this year is 5 PM, November 11. 28 Portal - Visit my.maryville.edu to access the Portal. It’s the main hub for e-mail, Access Maryville, the staff directory, the calendar of events, and any notification of mail in the University Bookstore. SAC - The office for CAB, CONNECT, and MSG is called the Student Activities Council Office and is located in the DUC. SSC - The Student Service Center is located in Gander Hall and manages the academic records of Maryville students. If you need to register for courses, request transcripts, pay enrollment fees, or discuss financial aid, this office can handle your administrative needs. UWOW - University Week of Welcome is a fun-filled week full of events throughout the first week of classes.
