Giovanna De Barba
founder
Giovanna De Barba, founder of De Barba Consulting, has gained a wide experience in the hospitality
industry specialized in the hotel sector. In her 25-year long career, Giovanna has developed and
managed business relationships for hospitality market leaders, and renowned international and
national brands. She has gained experience in Sales & Marketing and has established excellent
personal contacts within influential travel operators, media and journalists.
A sales & marketing expert with particular strength in the Corporate and Mice sector offers her clients
tailored solution and dedicated value added services. In her actual position she is focusing in trading
and positioning individual hotels and develops brand awareness of international hotels chains.
Monica Badin
co-founder
Since January, 2005, Monica Badin has lead as Associated Partner the De Barba Consulting’s team,
overseeing research initiatives, internet marketing and events. Monica Badin works closely with the
development of strategic sales & marketing initiatives and communications in addition to the ad-hoc
consultancy with Giovanna De Barba. Prior to join Studio De Barba Consulting, Monica Badin pursued
in-depth experience of branding and marketing in the travel industry at important International Hotel
Chains.

Eugenio Mammarella boasts a prestigious CV. He has more than 30 years of international hotel
industry experiences, especially in the luxury hospitality sector.
A leading figure of a tough career in Italy and abroad, Eugenio Mammarella worked in the
international luxury hospitality industry with significant experiences in the field of Hotel Operations
and Sales & Marketing.
He holds office of several positions within Steigenberger Hotel Group, Accor, Mövenpipick, Golden
Tulip. He was Sales Manager for CIGA Hotels in Germany, a prestigious Italian luxury hotel group,
responsible for all German speaking countries. In 1993 he worked as Key Account Manager for Dorint
Hotels & Resorts, a renowned German Hotel Group based near Cologne. He was responsible for the
development of all market segments concerning the key markets Germany, Switzerland and Southern
Europe. In 1998 he was nominated General Director Sales & Marketing Southern Europe as well as
Deputy Managing Director for Dorint Hotels & Resorts Italy, based in Milan. In this position he was
responsible for the launch, positioning, development of the brand “Dorint Hotels “ in Italy, Spain &
Portugal. In 2004 he assumed the position as General Manger at Relais Villa San Martino, a 5 star de
luxe resort hotel. Within a short time he led the Relais to prestigious recognitions on international
level. Finally in 2006 he was called by Robert H.Burns, the legendary hotel manager and founder of
the famous Hotel Group Regent Hotels Hong Kong and former proprietor of Villa Feltrinelli, for a new
opening of a top de luxe resort hotel in Tuscany as General Manager. Eugenio Mammarella specializes
in complex issues, involving hotel feasibility studies, sale & marketing on international level, strategic
planning and operational strategies.

Stefania Scalas has several years of experience in hotel operations with both select-service and fullservice hotels, overseeing multiple hotel properties with multiple franchise systems and opening newbuild hotels and brand conversions. She acquired strong abilities to analyze and interpret complex
information, including financial information and to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
