The first meeting between Mosa and Abdullah went perfect, Mosa telling about John and repeating that he thought the dog’s strange behavior meant there was a secret ability deep inside this dog and it would be discovered in the near future, Abdullah was impressed and the deal was done and John was left with Mosa due to circumstances that prevented Abdullah from taking John John, the name of a dog who went with his owner to top of the pyramid. I didn’t prefer the dogs of of any particular breeder. If one could fight and win, that was the kind I liked. If I had a dog which won in the pit and also had a winning female, then I would cross the two...and THEN I would look up the pedigrees. In my younger days the dogs were kept more pine within a family, such as the Noonan dogs, Feeley dogs, Shipley dogs, Lightner dogs, Colby dogs, Corcoran dogs, Corvino dogs, Henry dogs and some others. Those men tried to keep thier lines pure and they WEREN’T trying to peddle pups. Nowadays, most pedigrees have all these bloodlines in them. Ask some dogmen how good his dog is , and he will just say,”Just look at his pedigree” he is pure so and so. Now as for myself, there is NOT one pure bloodline of dogs living today. Now understand, this is just what I think. If anyone would like to challenge this statement just for an arguement, just tell him to mark another win on the wall, because a man who will argue his dog’s worth on paper, is a disgrace to a good game dog” Earl Tudor 7 SPORTING DOG JOURNAL SEPTEMBER 2010 8 SPORTING DOG JOURNAL SEPTEMBER 2010 levels consistent. The problems arise when the same type of grain Hi folks, here something about a supplement which could be beneficial to our beloved sporting dogs. This article focuses on the importance of water management in our beloved sporting dogs and, very important here to repel the myth of drying out our dogs. One of the biggest mistakes is to bring a dog dry to any sporting competition our dogs face in the modern world,be it to prevent it from running hot or, worse, forcing it to make weight. Of course there is the other end of the spectrum, bring a dog too WET. This article touches on this highly important issue, proper water management in our dogs. Pitgrip’s DOLLY is a red fawn dog, daughter of Champbound’s HUSTLER ROM 1W & Champbound’s LIL CHYNA, this is DEEPTHROAT DOLLY’s first time out and her camp has her right on weight! Pitgrip Combine takes the small forfeit of 3 stacks and makes the decision to take a trip “UP HILL”. At release both hounds shoot out their corners and collide in the center. NINA being almost 2 pounds bigger pushes DOLLY back into Pitgrip’s corner. Someone in the area yelled “It’s going to be a short night for that red bitch” both hounds immediately try to find their favorite holds. NINA 29 SPORTING DOG JOURNAL SEPTEMBER 2010 is more powerful as well as bigger and pushes DOLLY around in her corner. At 3 DOLLY obtains a good hold of NINA’s face, holds and shakes the black dog vigorously. At 6 NINA gets loose and goes underneath for the stifle. Pitgrip’s handler was pointing at DOLLY to go back to the face and neck area. DOLLY outmaneuvers the black dog and goes back to the face hold. At 9 DOLLY bites deep into the muzzle of NINA while rag dolling the black bitch. At 13 NINA is screaming and pawing at DOLLY’s face for her to let go. At 14 NINA is showing severe damage around the right eye and muzzle due to the intensity of DOLLY’s bite. At 17 DOLLY lets loose and goes deep into the chest, digging and digging! At 20 Pitgrip’s camp yells to D & G’s camp to “throw in the towel… don’t you think your dog has had enough, she’s a good bitch, save her” D and G’s camp replied “shut the fuck up…our bitch AINT GIVING UP”. Pitgrip’s camp’s replied “so be it….you could pick that bitch up with a mop later”. At 22 NINA manages to get free, a turn is called. What was so fascinating in this part of the match was the overdrive and intensity in the eyes and lean of NINA. NINA wasn’t standing to well due to all the front end damage DOLLY has caused! It really does look like a train wreck. When told to release NINA makes a slow but hard scratch. At 25 face your dog’s the referee screamed with the black dog having to scratch, release your hounds. The handler of DOLLY holds her snug in the corner till NINA gets inches from her. NINA retaliates by going underneath DOLLY, lifting her in the air, trying to go for a stifle hold. NINA manages to get a descent hold for about 15 seconds. At 26 It’s DOLLY’s first turn to scratch, she barn storms NINA into the corner and once again grabs a face hold. At 29 DOLLY is shaking NINA by the side of her jaw and neck. NINA is doing the best she can to maintain composer but DOLLY has a deep throat hold and is cutting off vital air supply to the black bitch. At 33 A quick handle is made by both handlers.
