MESSAGE FROM THE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR On behalf of the staff, hosts and volunteers here at WWFM The Classical Network and JazzOn2, I hope this 2012-2013 annual report finds you enjoying WWFM as you read! The Classical Network and JazzOn2 has improved our global reach both through streaming services and our innovative free webcasts (on The Classical Network). Through our real-time website playlist option, listeners worldwide can identify what is currently playing. Our bimonthly e-newsletter gives subscribers a heads-up on classical concert broadcasts and highlights of our specialty shows. WWFM has established our planned giving program, The Perpetuo Circle. For more information on joining those who have made an enduring gift to The Classical Network, please call or write me here at WWFM. And, please inform me if you HAVE included WWFM in your estate planning. I would like to send you a Perpetuo Circle lapel pin. Every April is Jazz Appreciation month and this year JazzOn2 held an open house on Sunday April 6th to kick off the month. Jazz hosts, old and new, came together to celebrate this American music form and share good times. The day’s programming featured a preview of all our locally produced programs as well as some of the national syndicated programs we carry. As part of the community programming format, we broadcast the Trenton, NJ mayoral forum on JazzOn2. Our emphasis on sustainability brings you programming from partner stations and partner musical institutions. With these partnerships, we add to our already rich programming and offer more focus on our unique community music resources. Because of our commercial-free format, WWFM plays music every hour of every day. Truly, none of this could happen without you. Through it all, more than 30 years ago, that is the one constant. Thank you for helping to make it possible for us to continue to bring to you the unique, entertaining, engaging, enriching programming that is WWFM The Classical Network. WHY YOUR MEMBERSHIP MATTERS EXPENSES This past year WWFM marked its 30th anniversary with many of the listeners and donors that have been loyal patrons of the station from the very beginning. WWFM continues to earn that loyalty through expansion of its classical music offerings, such as the new Noontime Concerts, the introduction of new shows, including “Wolf Notes” and “A Little Night Music,” and developing close partnerships with area performing arts organizations. Mercer County Community College is proud to host WWFM and support a commitment to excellence that listeners of The Classical Network have come to appreciate from New Jersey’s only 24-hour classical music station. With the expansion of WWFM’s broadcasts into the Philadelphia and New York markets, lovers of the world’s greatest music from Connecticut to Delaware and beyond can enjoy quality classical music programming originating on our campus in Mercer County. None of this would be possible without the generous support of the community, and the donors who have made quality music programming a priority. It is through their generosity that WWFM continues to grow and prosper, and for that, we are very thankful. I would also like to thank and congratulate the dedicated staff members of WWFM for their commitment to the world’s greatest music and their determination to preserve it for the enjoyment of future generations. With your continued support, WWFM will continue to fulfill that important mission. Sincerely, Dr. Patricia C.
