Glassroom Schedule 2016 Crystal Glass Studio is happy to announce our summer/fall schedule of Glassroom classes! Class size is limited to 8, register today! Classes are based on a minimum of 6 students and may be cancelled if not filled within one week of the class. Registration fees are non-refundable unless a class is cancelled. Classes held at Crystal Glass Studio, 50 Weant Boulevard, Carbondale, CO Crystal Glass Studio Shannon Muse 970-963-3227 970-319-1939 mary@crystalglassstudio.com paradiseartglass@sopris.net Intro to Stained and Leaded Glass Instructor: Shannon Muse July 15, July 16 and July 17 5 pm - 8 pm 10 am - 3 pm $225 or July 14 - August 18 (Thursdays for 6 weeks) 6 pm - 8:30 pm $250 Class will begin with an inspiring lecture about leaded glass, past and present. Students will design and fabricate a small leaded or copper foiled panel of 20 pieces or less. You will learn the basics of pattern design, glass cutting, leading, soldering, grouting and patina finishes, and take home a beautiful stained glass panel! No prior glass experience necessary. Into to Glass Fusing Instructors: Mary Matchael and Shannon Muse August 19 August 20 August 21 5 pm - 8 pm 10 am - 4 pm 10 am - 3 pm $300 Class will begin with a lecture about the basics of stained glass engineered for fusing, kilnforming, programming and use of the glass kiln. Samples of different techniques such as kiln paper casting, frit painting and slumping will be provided for you to choose from to design your projects. Price includes materials for 2 projects. Glass cutting skills helpful but not necessary. Special Techniques Instructor: Shannon Muse August 25 - September 29 6 - 8:30 pm (Thursdays for 6 weeks) $300 This the class to try it all! We will explore the advanced techniques including sandblasting, fusing, glass painting and decals. Beginners as well as advanced students can combine the techniques to great result. This will take your glass skills to the next level. The facility has wonderful access to kilns, sandblasting equipment and great glass selection. Intro to Etched Glass and Sandblasting Instructors: Shannon Muse and John Matchael September 10 and 11 10 am - 4 pm $275 In this class you will learn how to translate an idea or image into a sandblasted design on clear glass or mirror. Information on different types of resists will be discussed to create the best results for your design. You will have hands-on experience with the equipment to create your own art piece! No prior glass experience is necessary.
