2014 - 2015 I AM BECAUSE WE ARE! 5162 Corey Rd Winterville NC 28590 www.eccats.com 252-321-0404 jme6201@yahoo.com OUR GYMS: GREENVILLE NC 5162 Corey Rd 252-321-0404 NEW BERN, NC 3550 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd 252WASHINGTON NC 1102-C W. 5th St. 252-833-0589 tumblebgym.com Owned & Operated by Misty & Charlie Brown Team Placement and Divisions NO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED TO CHEER WITH OUR PROGRAM! Levels There are 6 different levels offered for All Star Cheerleading. The “level” refers to the type of stunts, pyramids and tumbling that the majority (90%) of the team can safely perform. The team levels are determined solely by the coaching staff and USASF guidelines. There has been a steady upward trend in the levels over the past few years. In other words, a team that would have easily won a Level 4 division a couple of years ago could be below average at that level now. The best teams are MUCH stronger now at every level than they used to be. This year ECCATS is working to MAX OUT every competition score sheet. This means that 90% of the team must have the hardest skill required in each level. For example 90% of the team would have to have a strong back hand spring in order for the team to compete in a level 2 division. TEAM PLACEMENTS There may be cheerleaders on any given team that tumble at a different level than the rest of their teammates. We try to match up the athletes by levels as best we can, but please remember that stunting, pyramids, jumps, dance, motions and age are huge factors as well. It is simply not feasible for every team to have exactly matched athletes. Please trust the staff and know that every athlete is on a team for a reason. NOTE: NO ATHLETE HAS AN ABSOLUTE GUARANTEE OF A ROSTER SPOT ON A PARTICULAR TEAM. The coaching staff reserves the right, at any time, without notice to change the rosters of the teams by adding, rearranging or removing cheerleaders to/from teams for a performance/practice. Cheerleaders may be removed from our program at any time for any reason which may include but are not limited to: attitude problems, absences and/or tardies, reduction of skill level, lack of improvement, lack of financial responsibility, fitness level of athlete and personality conflicts between cheerleaders, coaches, parents or anyone else involved in our program. There will be NO REFUNDS of tuition, trip fees, uniform fees or any other fees at any time for any reason. ECCATS has provided my daughter a healthy outlet both physically and socially to grow in our adopted hometown! We are now entering her 6th season here, and we couldn't be happier. Our younger daughter who was 2 yrs old when her sister started decided to join in on the fun, and is now entering her 3rd season. She enjoys playing with all of her "big sisters" and can't get enough of this place! Both get a thrill out of competing at some of the most respected competitions in the country, and their teams being able to keep up with some of the biggest names in the industry, while still keeping that "family" feeling when you walk in the door. ~Jaclyn Martin (Camryn & Cassie’s Mom) My daughter, Sydney, started tumbling at ECCATS at Our daughter has gained so much by being a part of the the age of 2. Eleven years later we are still tumbling gym. She has developed so many life skills from her and cheering at ECCATS!!! This is her life. She has experiences being a part of a team and the ECCATS family. made lifelong friends and memories here. I have seen I cannot put into words how much ECCATS has meant to her grow, not only as an athlete but as an individual. us, it has been a part of all of us. The gym has been The staff pushes them to reach their highest potential Sidney’s village that helped raise her with loving guidance but also teaches them many life lessons. Our teams are and discipline. Jamie and TJ, Aaron and Jerome and her not only winners on the floor but they are taught to be other very special coaches over the years have been a winners in life. Sydney and I truly bleed purple. Godsend. I am so thankful she has had this second home ECCATS is our family and I am so glad we made the to run to when she needed it. ECCATS has provided a decision many years ago to start this journey. healthy and moral environment that kept her busy and ~ Jo-Lynne Braxton (Sydney) occupied and away from the many negative influences facing kids today. We leave to move on to new adventures that would not be possible without her years of training at CATS. I would recommend this program to any parent. ~Lynne Fornes (Sidney Overby’s Mom) This is our first year at ECCATS and our daughter has learned so many new skills in such a short time. She absolutely adores her coaches because they are constantly encouraging her to do her best. We love our ECCATS family and look forward to the next cheer season! ~ Jessica & Steve Lundberg (Anna) My daughter has been a part of this program since she was 3.5 years old. 10 years later, she still loves it today just as much as she did then. My younger son joined 2 years ago and I can't even begin to tell you what it has done for him and how much he loves the sport. Competitive cheerleading has taught them the value of true teamwork, discipline and hard work to accomplish personal and team goals, not to mention the lasting friendships they have formed along the way. If anyone is looking for an awesome program to involve their children in (boys or girls), this is guaranteed to enhance their self esteem, instill amazing values and help create wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. ~ Mignon Norman (Ciana & Tyler) We love ECCATS. The staff there are such positive role models for ECCATS has been one of the best decisions we our kids. My girls have learned dedication, determination, have made for Bailey! She has learned so much teamwork, confidence, how to win while remaining humble and in the two years that she has been at CATS. She how to lose gracefully. They've worked through injuries, sweat, has particularly advanced in tumbling! Most of and tears and know the feeling of accomplishment when their all, she has made friends that she will keep for a hard work pays off. They've also made some very dear friends who lifetime, learned to be more self-confident and have a bond that can only come from stepping on stage in front of driven. She knows how to set a goal and doesn't thousands of people with only each other to depend on, year after stop until she reaches it! All of this has been year. due to the influence of her AWESOME coaches Yes, it costs money in an already tight economy. But, we view it as an important investment in our children that will play a role in positively influencing and shaping the strong young women they and CATS family. We have had a great season and we love all of you! We are looking forward to many more seasons at ECCATS! Paws Up! will become. I recommend their program to anyone considering all ~Teresa Wooten (Bailey) star cheer. ~Erika Trevathan (Hailey, Mary Kathryn & Bella) Six years ago, I took Faith into ECCATS and the first thing she said was, “This is where I want to be”! She was shy and did not have a lot of confidence, but that quickly changed! So many things blossomed in her: personality, confidence, commitment, responsibility, leadership, and the ability to express herself. She absolutely loves ECCATS and tells everyone she knows! She even made up the saying in a video, “First of all, I am a CAT for life”. I think that defines Faith and the rest of our family very well! For those that know her well, to say her HEART bleeds purple would be an understatement! Throughout the years, my son has played many organized sports. But, he always saw something different about the discipline that Faith exhibits. He and some of the other “cheer brothers” loved to go to the competitions and began to love and understand the sport. So, they jumped on the bandwagon too! These boys absolutely LOVED it! After Christian’s first practice, he said, “That is the hardest practice I have EVER had”. Let me remind you, he has played soccer, football, basketball and baseball and none of them have built the confidence that cheerleading has in him! I quote his words, “It has helped me to be braver and to believe in myself!” As his parents, that is music to our ears. My husband and I say all the time, that cheerleading has been worth every dime that we have spent! Even my husband likes the cheer scene and all that it represents for both our boy and girl! As a former coach, cheerleader and mom to two cheerleaders, I have witnessed the sport of cheerleading be life changing for so many kids. There is something about a sport that has no bench and EVERYONE is essential to the team that REALLY helps a person to flourish. There is always an individual skill that is instrumental to a team! Your child does not have to have prior skills, a good coach with a willing child can foster those skills. This is done here at ECCATS! ~Tonya & Chris Miles (Faith & Christian) ECCATS has been a great experience for my daughter. She has learned so much from being a part of a team including leadership skills to being able to coach a team. She has been cheering at ECCATS for 14 years. She’s developed friendships she’ll have forever. As the saying goes she’s learned to “win with dignity and lose with grace”. Being a part of a team she knows there are different personalities and skill levels and that patience, hard work, determination and dedication to working together will help you reach your goals. She’s learned a lot of what the real world is about and grown into a strong, smart, responsible young lady that will be able to take all she’s learned and continue to use it through the rest of her life. We are very appreciative of the family she has been a part of at ECCATS with TJ and Jamie, because they’ve all contributed to the amazing young lady she is today! ~Dana Allen (Brittany) Gym Policies & Guidelines Gym Dress Code: 1.
