You're the first to know: Nelson Kootenay Lake is the Cat Ski Capitol of the World! With 5 operators, 40ft of snow annually and 95,000 acres of terrain, you'll ski 12‐20,000 vertical ft each day. And in the evening you'll relax with friends, old and new, dine and tell stories about the days epic turns. It's a little bit of heaven. 2. Whiteater Ski Resort is opening December 6th, and the snow is falling. They are anticipating a stellar snow year with heaps of the fluffy stuff. Visit their website to get details on special events, passes and festivals. 3. The Civic Theatre and Capitol Theatre are chocker‐block full of entertainment this winter. There is truly something for everyone. 4. Destination British Columbia TRAVELLING TIP: Winter Tires. Get them. As of October 1st each year travellers coming in over the passes are required to have winter tires. Car rentals can provide winter tires but these must be booked in advance. Option B is to take the Spokane Shuttle from Spokane to Nelson, which runs every day. ******** Stories to share: Don't be shy, take a read.
