The landmark musical, Les Miserables, is the show that changed
the musical theater genre forever. Les Miserables, the world’s longest running musical and winner of five Tony Awards including Best
Musical of 1987, has been seen by more than 40-million theater
goers in at least 20 languages. Based on a French historical novel
by Victor Hugo first published in 1862, this epic tale of Jean
Valjean’s quest to escape his past and protect his daughter from the
dangers of the French Revolution has held a special place in the
hearts of theater lovers for more than 25 years. Produced by special
arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
Dinner at the War Memorial prior to the show included.

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It is more than
simply putting flowers in a container. It is a disciplined art form in which
the arrangement is a living thing where nature and humanity are
brought together. It is steeped in the philosophy of developing a closeness with nature.
Travel with us to Northwest Unitarian Universalist Church in Southfield to see A Glimpse of Japan. We will see demonstrations of Ikebana
Floral Art and we may even see the dressing of a traditional Japanese
bride. Shop original pottery & baskets, and enjoy an afternoon tea.

Mexicantown is a place where vibrantly colored buildings, decorated
with even brighter murals and hand-painted signs, dot the main thoroughfares of Bagley and Vernor Streets. One might guess there are
more restaurants per square foot than any other neighborhood in
Detroit -- but the smell of fresh tortillas and baked goods floating down
the street provide the only proof.
We will enjoy the Pre-Cinco de Mayo festivities while having lunch at
Los Galanes Restaurant, which includes entrée, drink and dessert.
After lunch we will shop at a few stores along the street that include a
bakery and a gift shop.

A crush can make anyone feel young again – even a widower named
Ralph. On an ordinary day in a routine life, Ralph decides to take a
different path on his daily walk – one that leads him to an unexpected
second chance at love. Despite the misgivings of family and the initial reluctance of Carol, the object of his affections, Ralph embarks
on the trip of a lifetime and regains a happiness that seemed all but
lost. The Last Romance is a heart-warming comedy about the transformative power of love.

Help is available for prescription costs. Making
ends meet should not mean going without your medications. If you
have limited income and resources, Medicare’s “Extra Help”

premiums, copayments, and deductibles. Many people qualify and
don’t know it. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
estimates that more than 2 million people with Medicare may be
eligible for extra help, but are not currently enrolled to take advantage of these savings. If your income is less than $17,235 (or
$23,265 for a married couple) and your assets are less than $13,440
(or $26,265 for a married couple), then you may qualify for extra
help. These numbers do not count your primary residence/car. Any
