Through a combination of classes, one-on-one mentoring, interactive sessions, and career presentations by successful professionals, it helps you develop the skills and attitudes necessary to be effective in college and later on as a father, a professional, a friend, and a citizen. MENTORING Each student works with a mentor from the Edge staff who will meet individually with him between the monthly sessions. The mentor will help the student make practical goals based on the material presented in the seminars. Mentoring sessions last 45 minutes and will usually take place in person at Chestnut Hill Center or by phone or Skype. Your interests will affect the college and the major you choose. It is also the time to develop the habits of effective speaking and critical thinking that are essential for success in college and the workplace. An interactive session to develop team building and communication skills and a talk on character development follows each presentation.
