TALENT? GOOD LOOKS? ATHLETIC
SKILLS? . . . NOT REALLY. WHAT MATTERS
IS CHARACTER. CHARACTER MAKES YOU
STRONG. CHARACTER ENDURES
AFTER THESE OTHERS ARE LONG GONE.
The Edge gives you the practical, intellectual
and moral foundation to be a man of
character. Through a combination of classes,
one-on-one mentoring, interactive sessions,
and career presentations by successful
professionals, it helps you develop the skills
and attitudes necessary to be effective in
college and later on as a father,
a professional, a friend,
and a citizen.
MENTORING
Each student works with a mentor from the Edge
staff who will meet individually with him between the
monthly sessions. The mentor will help the student
make practical goals based on the material presented in
the seminars. Mentoring sessions last 45 minutes and
will usually take place in person at Chestnut Hill
Center or by phone or Skype.

YOUNG MEN FOR
LIFE BEYOND
HIGH SCHOOL
High School is the time to begin thinking about career
interests. Your interests will affect the college and the
major you choose. It is also the time to develop the
habits of effective speaking and critical thinking that
are essential for success in college and the workplace.
An interactive session to develop team building
and communication skills and a talk on character
development follows each presentation.
