A Brief Description of Teacher Empowerment through Continuing Education Ltd. Co. Established as a paftnership on April 15, 2016, Teacher Empowerment through Continuing Education Ltd. Co. seeks to provide affordable and high quality educational services to teachers in the country. Among the partnership's other objectives are: A. establish networks with leading educational institutions and similar professional organizations; B. enhance the pedagogical skills and knowledge of teachers by providing updated and relevant trainings thru seminars, lectures, workshops and the like on teacher education; C. observe high ethical and professional standards in dealing with colleagues and clients; D" contribute to national development by promoting the integrity, competence, ethical and professional standards of the teaching profession in the conduct of activities and programs" II. Project Rationale With the implementation of the Enhanced Basic Education Law and the ongoing enrollment for Senior High School students, some teachers may find themselves in unfamiliar territory: teaching a new specialized subject and adjusting to a new curriculum. Moreover, the tracks offered in Senior High are geared towards helping students arrive at relevant decisions about their future careers making teaching and developing the curriculum more exciting and challenging for mentors and administrators. Needlessly, conducting a seminar-workshop at a time when the curriculum is in transition is timely for it will not only better equip teachers and administrators with the necessary knowledge and techniques in the pedagogy, but also orient them on the breed of learners they will be tackling. III" Objectives The seminar-workshop aims to: A. upgrade the knowledge and teaching strategies of teachers in senior high school, B. write and develop instructional materials and curriculum frameworks based on the knowledge and skills gained from the lectures, C. establish networks and promote camaraderie among participants. IV" Project Details A. Project Clientele Three potential clients will benefit from this project namely: 1. The participating teachers and administrators The new insights on English, Filipino, Marketing, Science, and Research will enable teachers to draft an appropriate curriculum framework and instructional materials for senior high school students. 2. Schools The school may conduct their own retooling seminar-workshop with the participants the Cavite seminar-workshop as facilitators. This could serve as a cost-efficient means of knowledge and skills transfer and a validation of the participants' learning. of 3. DepEd By supporting the seminar-workshop thru endorsement, the DepEd is able to the following mandate of Republic Act No. 10533, specifically: fulfill SEC. 7. Teacher Education and Training. - To ensure that the enhanced basic education program meets the demand for quality teachers and school leaders, the DepED and CHED, in collaboration with relevant partners in government, academe, industry, and nongovernmental organizations, shall conduct teacher education and training programs, as specified: (a) In-service Training on Content and Pedagogy Current DepED teachers shall be retrained to meet the content and performance standards of the new K to 12 curriculum. The DepED shall ensure that private education institutions shall be given the opportunity to avail of such training. New graduates of the current Teacher Education (b) Training of New Teachers. training, upon hiring, to upgrade their skills to the additional curriculum shall undergo content standards of the new curriculum. Furthermore, the CHED, in coordination with the DepED and relevant stakeholders, shall ensure that the Teacher Education curriculum offered in these Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) will meet necessary quality standards for new teachers. Duly recognized organizations acting as TEIs, in coordination with the DepED, the CHED, and other relevant stakeholders, shall ensure that the curriculum of these organizations meet the necessary quality standards for trained teachers. Superintendents, principals, subject area (c) Training ofSchool Leadership. coordinators and other instructional school leaders shall likewise undergo workshops and training to enhance their skills on their role as academic, administrative and community leaders.
