Retooling Seminar-Workshop for Senior High School Teachers
Theme: Curriculum in Transition:
Arliculating 2 1't Century Learning Competencies
and Skills in Senior High School
Del Pilar Academy, Imus, Cavite
October 22,2016
I. A Brief Description of Teacher Empowerment through Continuing Education Ltd. Co.
Established as a paftnership on April 15, 2016, Teacher Empowerment through Continuing
Education Ltd. Co. seeks to provide affordable and high quality educational services to teachers in the
country. Among the partnership's other objectives are:
A. establish networks with leading educational institutions and similar professional organizations;
B. enhance the pedagogical skills and knowledge of teachers by providing updated and relevant
trainings thru seminars, lectures, workshops and the like on teacher education;
C. observe high ethical and professional standards in dealing with colleagues and clients;
D" contribute to national development by promoting the integrity, competence, ethical and
professional standards of the teaching profession in the conduct of activities and programs"
II. Project Rationale
With the implementation of the Enhanced Basic Education Law and the ongoing enrollment for
Senior High School students, some teachers may find themselves in unfamiliar territory: teaching a new
specialized subject and adjusting to a new curriculum. Moreover, the tracks offered in Senior High are
geared towards helping students arrive at relevant decisions about their future careers making teaching
and developing the curriculum more exciting and challenging for mentors and administrators.
Needlessly, conducting a seminar-workshop at a time when the curriculum is in transition is timely for
it will not only better equip teachers and administrators with the necessary knowledge and techniques in
the pedagogy, but also orient them on the breed of learners they will be tackling.
III" Objectives
The seminar-workshop aims to:
A. upgrade the knowledge and teaching strategies of teachers in senior high school,
B. write and develop instructional materials and curriculum frameworks based on
the knowledge and skills gained from the lectures,
C. establish networks and promote camaraderie among participants.

2. Schools
The school may conduct their own retooling seminar-workshop with the participants
the Cavite seminar-workshop as facilitators. This could serve as a cost-efficient means of
