SENIOR RADIOTHERAPY MEDICAL PHYSICIST DOHA, QATAR As we continue to develop and transform cancer services in the State of Qatar, applications are invited from experienced Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists. We are looking to fill these positions by mid 2014. The Department of Radiation Oncology is one of the departments that make up the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR) at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). Furthermore, it is the intent of HMC to make the NCCCR one of its centers of excellence. As such, the department is equipped the latest state-of-the art facilities and equipment. These include two Varian linear accelerators (Tx with ExacTrac and Ix) both configured with OBI, RapidArc and gating, one Siemens CT-SIM unit, a GE Optima wide bore MRI-SIM unit, all interfaced to AW AdvantageSIM and the ECLIPSE treatment planning system, a Siemens PET-CTSim, a Nucletron HDR Brachytherapy. Furthermore, it is expected that a new modality will be installed by the end of 2014, mainly to further advance our existing SRS/SRT capabilities. Also, our department is a completely paperless environment, is JCI accredited and successfully passed an IAEA QUATRO radiation therapy audit with flying colors. We are also involved with the IAEA to provide regional courses for Medical Physicists from the surrounding region. The courses are conducted in Doha, incorporating hands-on sessions using the existing facilities within our department. Our Medical Physicists are key members of a multi-disciplinary team. Besides being specialized in certain techniques, they also provide coverage for the different modalities, as well as on-call services. Applicants must have at least five years post qualification experience, an MS/PhD in Medical Physics or related fields and board certification / state registration in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics. IGRT experience is essential, and previous experience in advanced dosimetry and treatment planning techniques is a must. Attractive packages to the successful candidates are provided. Including a generous tax free basic salary, 40 calendar days vacation, five local casual days, transport allowance, car loan facility, accommodation, annual return flights for you and your family and education support for up to three dependents. We support CPD by providing an annual conference entitlement after a qualifying period of eighteen months. Contracts are for three years initially, with an end of service gratuity of one month’s salary for each worked, for up to 10 years. Doha is the capital city of the state of Qatar, home to the 2022 World Cup and a growing vibrant city with a myriad of cafes, restaurants and sporting venues and a beautiful harbour. The city hosts the Doha Tribecca Film Festival, and is an excellent gateway for travel to Europe, Asia and the Far East.
