How Can You Help?
•
Place an advertisement in the auction catalog – show your business - cheer MICH –
highlight your alum – the sky is the limit - so get creative.
•
Make a donation – a week at a vacation home – jewelry – restaurant gift certificate – an
insider item such as lunch with a celebrity, taping of a TV show.
•
Underwrite an expense or make a cash donation. Every donation increases the amount of
auction profit that goes directly to helping MICH grow!

program. He is also a member of the National Honor Society. He
plays 3 varsity sports: golf, wrestling and lacrosse.

at St. Mary’s College.
Mary Dean was accepted into AACPS STEM Magnet Program for
Middle School.
Abigail Goodman (’10) was named to the Capital Gazette
Communications All-County Swimming for Girls 200 Medley Relay.
Caroline Jones is in 5th grade at Calvert School - this year she is a
‘middle-schooler’ - which has the benefit of being in a separate
building from the younger students, the uniform code is less
stringent, and she receives a laptop to assist her with her
assignments. She enjoys making videos of herself and her friends.
She has spent the last few years cultivating her ice skating skills and
began riding lessons last year. Recently, she began playing squash.
Jake Jones is in second grade
and is very easygoing and fun
loving. He is constantly smiling
and full of fun. When he’s not at
school, he loves building vehicles
with Legos or playing with his
buddies at the park. He has
become an avid fisherman and
any time he can spend on a boat
or on the water is a great day for
him.
Andrea Minot was one of 63 high
school juniors recognized as one of
the Capital Gazette’s 2015
Outstanding High School Student
Achievers. Andrea is a junior at Key
where she founded the Key
Astronomy Club and is involved in a
variety of volunteer activities
including Key’s After School
Program where she assists with
young children.

class of 2018 and is enjoying every second of her
experience there. Paige rows for Annapolis Junior Rowing Club,
AJR. Paige has rowed in 5 regattas in both 8’s and 4’s. She is
starting her second season with AJR.
Cate Hershfeld continues to excel at Severn River Middle School,
earning a 4.0 last quarter. Cate fondly recalls her time at MICH and we all attribute much of her success to the solid foundation she
gained through her experience with Ms. Jiles and MICH.
Evan Hodgson is enjoying the PVA program at Bates Middle as a 7th
grader. He is specializing in visual arts and has been on the honor
roll since he started 6th grade.
Liam Hodgson is finishing his last year of elementary school as a 5th
grader at Rolling Knolls. He is very excited that he was accepted for
the new science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) program
at Central Middle school in the fall.
Zak Perchinsky is in 6th Grade.
Zak plays point guard for Green
Hornets Select Basketball and
plays attack for API. Zak loves
digital media editing of sports
photography and is a walking
encyclopedia on collegiate and
professional sports.

grade at Rolling Knolls elementary.
Carissa Lipton (’06) returned in June
from her sophomore year at
Hebrew University in Jerusalem,
Israel and started her junior year
at University of Delaware in Newark,
DE in August. She continues to be
an International Relations Political
Science major, and is looking for an
internship in DC for the summer
(anyone looking for a great worker,
Carissa would love to help at your NGO!)
Brooke Perchinsky is
attending Kindergarten at
Severn School and is a
proud reader!!! Brooke
loves her friends and
gymnastics, where she is
on the Dixie Cup Team at
Severna Park Gymnastics.

10/10/2014. He was named to Parade’s All American Football
Team and he was presented with the Herman Boone High
School Player of the Year Award at the seventh annual
Washington Football Legends Scholarship Gala. He will attend
Alabama in the fall where he will play football.
Sam Renaut (’92) shares that his niece and nephew are now
students at MICH - some of the first legacies I believe Maggie and Duncan Stauffer (my sister, Liz Stauffer's kids).
Erik Repka (’99) has been living in Tokyo, Japan for the last
three years teaching English to middle schoolers. His plan is to
return home this summer and he hopes to continue teaching.
He is planning to be married in the spring in Japan.
Kelsey Repka is attending graduate school at Columbia's
Mailman School of Public Health and will graduate this spring.
She is enjoying her life in Manhattan and making the most of
it. She is also tutoring students at the NYC public library in the
little spare time she has!
Bryan Sanders a (’00) and his
girlfriend took a two week camping
adventure last July spanning
Montana, Washington and British
Columbia. Whistler Resort and the
"Gum Wall" in Seattle were the
highlights of this trip! He has
become quite the salesperson in the
family business and continues to
grow as a business person every day.
Matt Sanders (‘01) got married on Labor Day at St. Mary's
Church in Annapolis. He is just finishing up his F-16 training
in Phoenix and will be moving to Hill AFB in the Salt Lake City
area of Utah. His wife will be joining him in the move.

their soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams. She has also been
invited to participate in the Morgan Franklin Fellowship, a unique
youth investment program.
Addy and Baily Walden are
in 3rd and 4th grade at St.
Mary's Elementary. They both
play on a recreational
basketball team together
in the Annapolis area.
Hunter Ward (’14) has been settling
in to life at Annapolis Middle
School and getting used to
the homework thing. In the
school science fair he received
first place for his project and
represented Annapolis
Middle at the county science fair.
Outside of school he has been
playing county soccer and
continuing his piano lessons.
Photo of Hunter at FAO
Schwartz on a weekend trip to NYC in January.
Jacob Whitaker (’12) was selected by USA Water Polo for the
2015 Northeast Zone team by the Olympic Development
Program.
Robert White is now in 5th grade at Severn and enjoying it all.
Apart from the academics, he is the narrator in a Destination
Imagination project. His team competed against other schools at
Towson U. and came in second. In addition, he has developed an
interest in archery and will be competing in the state tournament
in Hagerstown. He continues to play soccer for most of the
calendar year on Kurtis Swope's team.
Caroline Steele received
an Honorable Mention in the
Anne Arundel County Public
Schools Regional History
Day competition. Her exhibit,
"Saving Europe's Treasures:
The Leadership and Legacy
of the Monuments Men,"
combined her interest in the
WWII era and her passion for fine art.

Portland, OR, where he is studying International Affairs and is
a member of the football team. This spring he is spending a
semester abroad at the American University of Paris.
Isabel Strachan graduated from Key School and joined the
freshman class of George Washington University, where she is
studying Business and is a member of the sailing team. In
December she was named a Finalist in photography in the
prestigious Young Arts competition (170 finalists, 10 in
photography, out of 11,000 applications).
In Memorium ~ Darryl E. “DJ”” Wright, Jr.
DJ Wright, 20, died October 16, 2014 in Annapolis. Born
November 18, 1993, he attended Montessori International
before going on to St. Andrews United Methodist Day School
and St. Mary’s High School. DJ’s many athletic
achievements and talents were recognized very early. Not
long after learning to walk, he was hitting golf balls in the
backyard. He snowboarded at the age of five, and by seven
he conquered The Face, a double black diamond at
Heavenly, Tahoe. He earned a black belt in karate before
the age of nine, was a state champion in lacrosse with AYLA
at the age of twelve, and a record holder in Cooperstown
with his baseball team from PAL that same year. He played
youth soccer for Annapolis and football with PAL. At St.
Mary’s Catholic HS, he was a member of the JV football
team, and played on the Varsity baseball team.
Our heartfelt condolences to the Wright family and to their
friends.
