The foundation upon which NEHBC and the Student Ministry of
NEHBC stands is the gospel of Jesus Christ: that Jesus’ words
spoken and the Word of God from which we preach, teach, and
study, is without error and is as relevant today as it has ever been for
the purpose of redeeming and reconciling any person who is willing
to profess with their mouth and believe in their heart that Jesus Christ
is the Son of God who rose from the dead.

The hope for the NEHBC Student Ministry is that students would
collectively live together as a gospel-centered community: a collection of disciple-making Christ-followers committed to the regular
meeting with one another, in addition to the regular meeting of the
larger congregation, for the purpose of sharpening one another
through gospel revelation, life events, prayer, community service, and
meeting one another’s physical, social, and emotional needs.

The burden of the NEHBC Student Ministry is that each individual
student would pursue holiness with a great fervency. Someone who
pursues holiness commits to a personal pursuit of being set apart
from the patterns of this world through a continual and complete
surrender to the Lordship of King Jesus over their lives.
LIFE GROUPS | SUNDAY A.M.
The purpose of LifeGroups is to be the hub of genuine community in the
NEHBC Student Ministry. The tenets of community identified in Core Values
(namely, the meeting of physical, social, and emotional needs) are meant to
be lived out in the context of LifeGroups.
MID-WEEK GATHERING | WEDNESDAY P.M.
The purpose of the Mid-week student gathering is to provide an opportunity
for students to regularly gather with their peers for worship, teaching, and
fellowship.
MISSION TRIPS
The purpose of the Mission Trips associated with the Student Ministry is to
place into students’ hearts a love for the nations, to place into their minds the
vastness of God’s kingdom, and to place into their hands an experience that
is unforgettable. Due to multiple siblings and the cost of trips it is not expected that a student attend a trip every summer, but it is the hope that every
student will experience at least one state-side and one international trip
before they graduate from high school.
EVENTS
While the Student Ministry of NEHBC is not an event-driven ministry, we
recognize that events are an effective way to disciple students in their varying
seasons of life. All events are grounded on the following principles:
How do we best reach guys and girls where they are?
How do we best reach middle school and high school students where
they are?
How do we best show students the depth and breadth of the gospel as
it relates to where they are?
How do we best allow a student who does not profess Jesus as Lord
the opportunity to respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ?

FAQ’s
This is my family’s first time visiting. Where do I take my student?
On Wednesday nights, students in 7-12th grade are invited to join us for our
midweek gathering. Fifth and sixth graders are invted to attend Route56. On Sunday
mornings, students in 6-12th grade are welcome to attend Sunday morning
LifeGroups.
I have a 6th grader. Where do they fit into the student ministry?
Currently, our NEHBC family offers Route56, a ministry separate from the Student
Ministry, and geared specifically to 5th and 6th graders. Route56 meets on
Wednesday nights. Fall 2016, Route56 will expand to also meet Sunday mornings.
Until then, our Student Ministry LifeGroups are structured to minister to 6th graders
on Sunday mornings in 6/7 Guys and Girls LifeGroups.
Where can parents go during the times students are meeting?
Sunday morning LifeGroups: Visit the Info Desk in the main lobby to get plugged in
to an adult LifeGroup class.
Wednesday nights: Parents are invited to attend Corporate MidWeek Worship for
teaching by Pastor Nathan Lino, from 7:00-8:00pm.
Where do students sit during corporate worship?
During the 10:30am service, a group of students sit together near the front middle
section of the main worship center. However, it is up to their parents’ discretion
where they would like their student to sit--whether with other students or with their
family.
My children are homeschooled. Does the student ministry offer anything specifically for them?
The first Thursday of every month, homeschoolers and their parents are invited to
attend Homeschool Lunch. Location varies. Dowload our app and follow us on
social media for location notifications.
I need to get a hold of someone right away about my student.
What’s the best way to do so?

My child wants to be baptized. What do I do?
Contact the student ministry team (Pastor Brandon Bales or Girls Resident). They’ll
work with you and your child to meet with either a pastor, the Girls Resident, or a
LifeGroup leader for 3-4 visits before moving forward with baptism.
