MILE MARKER A Thor Diesel Club Member Publication Volume Four, Issue One JANUARY 2015 From the President’s Lane Well here we are. We’ve finished another year and what a year it has been! I hope you’ve had the opportunity to attend one of our Rallies. Each one is unique and although the themes are always different, the one thing that is consistent is the friendliness of our members. We enjoy each other’s company and our Rallies are a perfect place to find your next new good friend. In This Issue 1 President’s Lane 2 Wild West Rally 3 Stagecoach Stop 4 Riders & Goods 5 Riders & Gang 6 Mercantile 7 Questionable 8 Caution 9 TDC Corral 10 Share Loot 11 NC Minii-Rally 12 More Mini Rally One of our goals in 2015 is to increase the number of Mini Rallies that we offer during the year, focusing west of the Mississippi. That’s where you come in. If you live west of the Mississippi and are willing to host a Mini Rally, please let me or Peter Stojanovich, our Vice President, know. We will provide you with all the help you need. Just locate an RV park suitable for the rally. The rest is just bringing members together and enjoying each other’s company. Once more we finished the year as a Club helping others in a variety of ways. We provided funds to the Goshen Police Department K9 Unit to help train and protect their working dogs; helped Wounded Warriors Project, donated to Centre of Hope & Healing; the Love Way Inc.; and the Basher Children’s Home for a total of $5,475. Additionally, we provided blankets for those in need and donated our left over food to homeless shelters. TDC is a giving organization and I am very proud of what we accomplish each year. Our forum continues to grow. If you haven’t logged on and checked it out, you are missing a good opportunity to learn from others about your coach and the places others have travelled. While you are on the web site click on our Gallery and view the pictures of our 2014 Wild, Wild West International Rally. It was a real hoot! We recently travelled to Pine Mountain, GA, location for our upcoming 2015 Spring Rally. What a beautiful area. We visited Callaway Gardens and saw their Festival of Lights show. It was fantastic! The Rally Masters are planning a great get together and are already ahead of the planning curve. With over 20 coaches already signed up to attend, plan on joining us for good fun and fellowship. I hope to see you there. Safe travels, Fred 1 WILD, WILD WEST INTERNATIONAL RALLY Your Thor Diesel Club Officers October 4 – 8, 2014 Goshen, Indiana 2 3 The Riders and Their Goods 4 The Riders and Their Gang Trail Bosses 5 6 Questionable Characters 7 Approach with Caution 8 The TDC Corral 9 TDC $$$-- SHARES THE LOOT-- $$$ 10 Fall Mini-Rally, Camp Hatteras, NC October 26-30, 2014 Hatteras Rally Al Kedz Our weather was fantastic!. Originally 21 coaches signed up Due to various circumstances, 17 arrived. Our Halloween activities went beyond expectation. Costumes, pumpkin painting, rig decorating and doggie parade were all over the top. The Bean Bag Baseball game was a highlight with the teams really getting into it. James, our speaker from the Chicamacomico Life Saving Station was FANTASTIC. His 30 minute lecture turned into 1 1/2 hours. We didn’t want it to end! .Many went to the station the next day and witnessed the lifesaving drill. All walked away totally impressed and want to hear more next year. Speaking of next year, all the attendees want to have a repeat rally next year at the same place. Many booked their sites for next year before leaving, so I guess we will do it once more. Everyone had a GREAT time and participated in all the activities. Thanks to my assistant rall masters, the Lovelass' and Olsons. Dee and I walked away feeling total satisfaction that everyone had a GREAT time. We’re looking forward to next year. 11 More Camp Hatteras UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN… SPRING RALLY Pine Mountain, GA May 3-8, 2015
