Use the busses and trains free of
charge to experience the Black Forest.
During your holiday in the Black Forest in more than 135 cities
and communities you have a sensational advantage
– You receive the KONUS Guest Card (KONUS-Gästekarte) and
can use busses and trains free of charge!
How can you use KONUS?
With your registration with your host in one of the participating holiday destinations you will receive the SchwarzwaldGästekarte. The Schwarzwald-Gästekarte replaces the local spa
card and allows entrance to many facilities at a reduced price
in the Black Forest.
KONUS is valid here:
Note: Exceptions are ICE-, IC and EC connections as well as
mountain railways and funiculars.

associations apply accordingly.

We have prepared a special service for your stay: In addition to the
discounted prices offered everywhere throughout Black Forest, you
can also use the KONUS Guest Card to travel on busses and trains for
free in the whole KONUS region. The community currently pays a flat
rate of 35 cents per overnight from the visitor’s tax to the transportation association.
1. KONUS is valid for 2nd class regional transportation within
the KONUS region; see outline map
(does not include IC, EC, ICE trains or mountain railway).
There is hardly no other holiday region that is so easy to reach
as the Black Forest. The airports Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden,
Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg in the west as well as – a bit further away – Stuttgart and Friedrichshafen in the east make
a low-cost journey to the region possible with national and
international low-cost carriers. The ICE railway line FrankfurtBasel, the IC railway line Munich-Basel, the Höllentalbahn, the
Schwarzwaldbahn, the Murgtalbahn as direct connections
from the west to the east as well as the local transport system of busses make it easy to travel to the destinations in the
11,000 square kilometre large region.
7. If you have registered as a group yet wish to use KONUS as a ticket
for individual group members, then you can obtain individual KONUS
guest cards from your accommodation provider by presenting and
exchanging your KONUS group guest card. We recommend having
individual KONUS guest cards issued when you register if you won‘t
always be traveling as a group.
8. In the interest of securing transportation, groups of more than 10
persons traveling together must be registered with the respective
transportation authority at least three days prior to starting their
journey. Groups fundamentally can only be taken onto buses within
the respective transport company‘s scheduled capacity. It is not
always possible to accommodate all transportation wishes, especially
during times of heavy traffic. When registering directly with the
transportation company, you‘ll receive either confirmation or alternative suggestions.
9. KONUS is valid starting on the day of arrival upon arriving at your
accommodation provider (check-in) until the day of departure. KONUS
can be used for the departure journey, but not for the arrival journey.

10. You can obtain information on the participating transportation associations, regional limits and the KONUS region from your accommodation provider and/or the local Tourist Information Offices, or on the
Internet at www.blackforest-tourism.com/konus. If your journey exits

starting from the final location in the KONUS region.
