Coupling and integration of real-time systems
Accelerating the development process
Extension to standards
Facts
Virtual system development is getting more and more
important in numerous industrial domains to reduce
development time, stranded costs and time-to-market.
Co-simulation is a particularly promising approach for
interoperable modular development.
The aim of ACOSAR is to develop a non-proprietary
Advanced Co-simulation Interface for the integration
of real-time systems and an accompanying integration
methodology.
Transfer of results into industrial standardization is a
key goal of ACOSAR. Therefore, partners from relevant
standardization committees − FMI/Modelica Association,
ASAM − will be involved to jointly create solutions and extensions to existing standards.
Status:
Duration: Budget:
Partners: To further bridge the gap between the automotive domain
and other domains, leading partners (e.g. from aviation
and rail) are invited to ACOSAR as associated members. In
addition, ACOSAR innovations offer small- and mediumsized enterprises and suppliers from different domains
access to major industries, leading to a more competitive
market on long term.
Higher Level
Organization:
However, the coupling and integration of real-time systems into simulation environments still requires enormous effort. This problem is particularly challenging
for distributed hardware-in-the-loop systems and their
simulations.

The results of ACOSAR lead to a modular, versatile, and
rapid system development process for numerous industrial domains. They consequently facilitate the establishment of new business models.
