Welcome to 2016 Gold’s Gym Convention!
If last year’s Convention was all about celebrating our 50th anniversary,
this year is all about focusing on the future of the Gold’s Gym brand.
More specifically it’s about how we will continue to lead, innovate and
grow for the next 50 years and beyond.
All In. It’s not just our Convention theme. It’s the mantra at GGI that’s
driving every aspect of our business. All In on innovation and expansion.
All In on optimizing the member journey through customer service
and technology. And most importantly, being All In on franchising—
supporting your growth and giving you new tools to compete in your
local markets.
Brandon Bean, CEO
GOLD’S GYM
We are excited to
welcome franchisees,
vendors and friends from
around the globe to our
much-anticipated
annual Convention!
During this year’s Convention, you’ll hear more about these exciting
initiatives and business strategies—from new fitness offerings to our
signature GOLD’S PATH program to powerful new marketing creative
and more. You’ll also get to meet new members of the GGI Executive
team and, of course, exchange best practices and ideas with your fellow
franchisees and associates from the Gold’s Gym corporate office.
It’s going to be a great few days in Vegas and I look forward to seeing
everyone at the show!
Yours in Health,
Brandon Bean
Welcome to Las Vegas! We are excited that you have joined us here as
we begin the next 50 years of our legacy. Our convention theme this
year is “All In”, which reflects our renewed commitment to partnering
with you to support and grow your business. Over the next several days,
you will learn more about how the brand is changing to better collaborate
with our franchise partners, as well as providing transparent leadership
here at GGI. We are ABSOLUTELY committed to the franchise model and
are very excited to share our plans for innovating our business and taking
Gold’s Gym to an even higher level globally.
Craig Sherwood
Sr. VP of Franchising
GOLD’S GYM
As this is my first convention in my new role, I would love the opportunity
to meet you and learn more about your business and how we can
become more effective partners. Please do not hesitate to introduce
yourself to me over these next few days.
Yours in Partnership,
Craig Sherwood

BOTTOM UP LEADERSHIP
And How it Saved Lives in Benghazi
With Keynote Speaker, Kris "Tanto" Paronto
Hero. Veteran. Author. Speaker. US Army Ranger.
Security and Military Consultant | Hero of Benghazi Attack
Author of 13 HOURS IN BENGHAZI, A FIRSTHAND ACCOUNT OF
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED
KRIS "TANTO" PARONTO
Kris Paronto - “Tanto” as he is affectionately known in security
contracting circles - is a former Army Ranger from 2nd Battalion 75th
Ranger Regiment and private security contractor who has deployed
throughout South America, Central America, the Middle East and North
Africa. He also worked with the US Government’s Global Response Staff
conducting low profile security in high threat environments throughout
the world.
Mr. Paronto was part of the CIA annex security team that responded
to the terrorist attack on the US Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya,
September 11th, 2012, helping to save over 20 lives while fighting off
terrorists from the CIA Annex for over 13 hours. Mr. Paronto’s story
is told in the book “13 Hours” written by Mitchell Zuckoff and his five
surviving annex security team members.
In this keynote address, Kris uses his experiences in Benghazi that
taught him the importance of being able to depend and trust his team,
especially in times of major crisis. From combat to business, Kris shares
techniques, stories, and lessons he learned from having a strong team
under fire.
The harrowing, true account from the
brave men on the ground who fought
back during the Battle of Benghazi.
13 HOURS presents, for the first time
ever, the true account of the events of
September 11, 2012, when terrorists
attacked the US State Department
Special Mission Compound and a
nearby CIA station called the Annex in
Benghazi, Libya.

The Keiser story begins over 35 years ago
when Dennis Keiser was hired to design the
first variable resistance machines for a leading
manufacturer. Unsatisfied with the limits of
iron¬-based weight training, he and brother
Randy found a safer—and more efficient—
alternative that uses compressed air, or
pneumatics, to provide a smoother, controlled
resistance. In 1978, the brothers introduced
to the world the first air-powered variable
resistance exercise machines for building
strength and power. Then they introduced
the M Series indoor cycles, the first to offer
magnetic resistance, for a smooth, quiet ride
that elevated the industry standard.
