The theme of this year’s conference is Beyond Tough on Crime: Bold Innovations for Safer Communities. The theme emphasizes the need to explore new strategies and smarter approaches when prosecuting crimes, including focusing on rehabilitation, the prevention of recidivism, and our commitment to the preservation of civil liberties. Our conference will feature seminars that educate and enlighten prosecutors. Featured seminars will include experts providing insight into a variety of important legal issues at both the state and federal level. As we celebrate our achievements thus far and continue to pledge our commitment to prosecute crimes with resolve, we will also learn innovative approaches to prosecution that will strengthen our ability to tackle the criminal matters that come before us. This conference will honor our current successful strategies and motivate us to adopt new approaches to fighting crime. We here in the city of San Francisco are proud to be hosting the NBPA Annual Conference. Our host hotel is the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental, perched atop Nob Hill offering spectacular views of the city and the bay. The hotel is located at the junction of three of San Francisco’s historic Cable Car lines, providing direct transportation to our famous restaurants, world class shopping and entertainment.
