Students from Australia who participated in LASP 2012-1
Universidad de La Sabana offers the opportunity for
students and professionals to undertake short-term courses
in Latin American issues, in January/February and July/August.
People from various disciplines are able to choose from a wide range of
academic courses taught in English. The four week program is designed to give them
the opportunity to learn from a Latin American perspective while providing a cultural
experience in Colombia, one of Latin America’s most diverse countries.
The program includes a total of four assessments and an official transcript of results will be
provided to the home institutions, on completion of the program.
32 hours of academic content.
24 hours of Spanish language lessons.
Cultural activities in Bogotá and its surroundings.
Home-stay accommodation.
Participants will acquire a cultural understanding
of Colombia and Latin America, as well as
meeting people from around the world.
Universidad de La Sabana’s Latin American Studies Program is aimed at
undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as professionals
from varying disciplines such as business, economics, international
relations, law, politics, international studies, psychology, sociology, art
history, communications or cultural studies. Participants can choose from
the available academic streams and will undertake the corresponding
four courses. The list of streams available will be published in advance on
the website.

Students from Denmark who participated in LASP 2011-2
Next intakes:
1. January 28th – February 22nd, 2013
Participants are required to arrive in Bogotá by Sunday January
27th and leave no earlier than Saturday, February 23rd.
2. July 15th – August 9th, 2013
Participants are required to arrive in Bogotá by Sunday July
14th and leave no earlier than Saturday, August 10th 2012.
Costs
The total cost of the program includes:
• Advise on immigration procedures
• Airport pick-up
• Welcome lunch at Universidad de La Sabana
• Cultural activities
• 24 hr Spanish language program
• Overnight trip to Villa de Leyva - colonial town, 2 hours away
from Bogotá.
• Transport to and from activities, guides and entrance fees
• Home-stay accommodation in Bogotá. Includes: individual
bedroom, breakfast, dinner and laundry service once a week
or washer available on site.
• Farewell lunch
• A La Sabana Buddy will be assigned to each participant.
Fees
Participants are required to have international health insurance
that covers both accidents and illnesses for the full length of
stay in Colombia.
