Hello GMC Truck Chapter members!
Just a few lines to go with the newsletter! Hope everyone is surviving this
crazy winter weather! Seems all parts
of the USA are having their share of
winter mess.
Here in Oklahoma it’s been cold and
colder for sure! We are getting a reprieve for a few days according to the
weather guys. If you have room get
those projects ready for another year
of car shows and fun! Our fun begins
next month with the local chapter entering the Darryl Starbird Hot Rod
and Custom Car Show. For sure I am
showing off my finally finished ‘57
GMC Napco.
Membership Dues
If your dues are due, we have enclosed a renewal form in this issue
for your convenience.
The Indian Nations Pontiac Car Club
recently had their year-end dinner. We
celebrated 30 years as a POCI chapter.
With that said I would like to thank
Paul, Ron, and other members for their
work for this chapter and maybe someday we (or somebody) will be celebrating 30 years as the GMC Truck
Chapter?
I want us to remember the people who
are responsible for this year’s POCI
Convention in Louisville and hope we
can have a good showing of GMCs!
David Bailey,
GTC Prez.

Thanks everyone
for your continued support!

John Sawruk Jr. has been digging in his dad’s archives again and
emailed in some cool photos - show this to those folks who ask you,
“Why do you guys in POCI recognize GMC Trucks in your club?”
One of the many reasons and proof of the GMC/Pontiac shared lineage.

From The Driver’s Seat
NINE YEARS OLD...
Pres. David mentioned his local chapter celebrated their 30th year, congratulations! The GTC is entering year 9 so
let’s make it a good one leading into our
10th anniversary year in 2016!
Thanks to our officers David Bailey,
Steve Cook and Ron VanZytveld for
agreeing to serve the GTC another year.
Thanks to our contributors this month:
Dave Roper and John Sawruk, Jr. I
had the pleasure of meeting the Ropers and their friend Ken Hammond in
Wichita at the 2014 POCI Convention,
they are great folks with a diehard passion for all things Pontiacs and GMC.
Until next issue... think Spring!
Keep on Truckin’!

FOR SALE: 1993 GMC TYPHOON
Debuting in 1992, the GMC Typhoon SUV
borrowed from the script written by the highperformance GMC Syclone pickup, adding
more amenities, a rear seat and an enclosed
hatch. It, too, offered four-wheel drive and
a turbocharged V-6 engine beneath the hood,
rated at 280 horsepower and 360 pound feet
of torque. The combination of comfort and
brute force proved (relatively) attractive to
buyers, and despite the Typhoon’s lofty sticker price, GMC dealers sold nearly
4,700 examples in the truck’s two years on the market. This 1993 GMC Typhoon
is for sale on Hemmings.com. It was purchased from original owner in 1996. Always housed in temperature controlled garage. Original red exterior with charcoal
leather interior. Completely original with factory brochures. Fitted cover. 66,000
adult driven miles. Mint condition - more information at: blog.hemmings.com/index.
