Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood - Infinity Architecture Acquisition A Game Changer
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (August 11, 2015) – Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc., (GMC) announced that it has completed the
acquisition of Montgomery-based Infinity Architecture, a leader in the design of athletic and academic facilities.
Drawing from Infinity Architecture’s expertise, the firm will launch GMC Sports – a specialty market within the Architecture

“GMC and Infinity have competed for many projects over the years, and we’ve both won our fair share,” said GMC CEO Bill
Wallace, AIA. “They have an incredible sports portfolio that will add an extra layer of expertise to the work we’er already doing
in that market. At the end of the day, we feel like this collaboration is going to be better for both organizations.”
Infinity Architecture has worked on more than 57 projects at
Auburn University alone over the last decade, including the
nation’s largest college video board at Jordan-Hare Stadium,
which will be up and running for the 2015 football season. The
firm also designed the Tigers’ Indoor Practice Facility, JordanHare Stadium Home Locker Room and Lower Level Lobby
Renovations, Baseball Locker Room and Clubhouse and
Soccer and Track Facility. Other notable projects include the
AUM Wellness Center, Clemson University Indoor Football
Practice Facility, Samford University Track and Soccer Facility,

“This opportunity is great for Infinity Architecture, and we
think it’s great for GMC,” said Yann Cowart, AIA, former
Infinity Architecture principal and one of the leaders of GMC
Sports. “We’re already collaborating on several projects and
think there are great opportunities there on the sports side.
Our goal over the next 10-15 years is to make GMC the premier
sports group here in the South.”
Teams from both firms have been working on integration
plans to ensure a seamless transition for Infinity Architecture’s
people and clients.
“We bring a great architectural staff with us and are excited
that all of them are coming with us,” said Cowart. “We think
it’s a great fit.”
