A Day We’ve Long Awaited!
After a week-long celebration of
the opening of the new addition to Notre
Dame Academy, students and faculty are
enjoying the expanded space, the new
classrooms and state-of-the-art technology.
The Academy’s new wing includes a new
multifunctional student center, the Lauring
Music Room, an art center, the John and
Virginia Flagg Art Gallery, the Kenary Terrace and expanded office space. The science laboratories and the Cuvilly Auditorium also underwent complete renovation.
Building renovations included the installation of white boards and Smartboards in
all classrooms, new flooring, lighting and
paint.
A preview party was held at the
Academy the evening of September 11
and Sr. Ann Morrison, principal of the
Academy, thanked everyone involved in
the success of the Future Fund campaign.

from our alumnae, parents and friends,
especially in these hard economic times,
demonstrates the confidence our Academy
family has in the mission of the Sisters of
Notre Dame. The Foundress of the Sisters

on the first day of classes, September 14.
Konstantina Lukes, Mayor of Worcester,
praised the Academy as “one of the jewels
of the city”. Robert Kennedy, chair of the
Academy’s Board of Trustees, thanked all
who had helped make the addition a reality and predicted that the students who

The Knollwood Awards at Notre Dame Academy were established 20 years ago to honor alumnae and women in the Worcester
community who reflect the Academy’s tradition of service to others. In the same vein, the St. Julie Award, established in 1989, honors
individuals who reflect the spirit of St. Julie Billiart, Foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. This year’s recipients, Patricia
Kelleher Bartram ’74 , Jean McMurray and the late Ann-Marie Hines Blute join the ranks of 48 outstanding women and men who have
been honored by the Academy. The 2009 Knollwood and St. Julie Awards were presented at the Knollwood Reception held October 16th.

Patricia Kelleher Bartram ’74 received
the Knollwood Alumna Award. Patricia is
Associate Vice-President of Development
for the Campaign for Catholic Schools,
Boston, a non-profit organization dedicated
to rebuilding and revitalizing the Catholic
schools in the Archdiocese of Boston In
her acceptance speech, Pat credited her parents and the Academy for instilling in her
the need to serve others in the community.
She has worked for the American Heart
Association, Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology; as Associate Director
of Communications at Clark University,
Worcester; as Director of Public Relations
for the Donovan Group, an advertising/
public relations agency in Worcester; as
director of major gifts and foundations at
the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston and
as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development and then Director of Development
Research at the UMass Memorial Foundation in Worcester. Patricia is a driving force
in promoting the Barton Center for Diabetes in North Oxford, MA.
Jean McMurray, Executive Director of the
Worcester County Food Bank in Shrewsbury, received the Knollwood Community
Award. From 1982 to 1992, Jean worked
in Washington D.C. as a media analyst for
the Embassy of Jordan, as a research assistant to David Gergen, former White House
Communications Director, and as a consultant to the Central American Peace Scholarship Program at the United States Agency
for International Development. In her acceptance speech, Jean described the work
of the food bank and the logistics required
to feed the hungry. Since its incorporation
in 1982 the Worcester County Food Bank
has collected and distributed more than 50
million pounds of food and grocery product
through a network of local shelters, food
pantries, senior centers, residential rehabilitation programs, soup kitchens, afterschool programs and neighborhood centers
that help feed hungry people of all ages in
60 communities in Central Massachusetts.
She urged those in attendance to visit the
food bank to see first hand the work that
they do.
Ann-Marie Blute has received the St. Julie
Award posthumously. The mother of eleven children with her husband of sixty-two
years, Dr. Robert Blute, Mrs. Blute considered motherhood her highest calling. Her
daughters paid tribute to their mother and
their words were inscribed on the award
presented to Dr. Blute:
“To be Ann-Marie Blute’s daughters and to love her was to know that her
deepest wish for you was a deep and personal relationship with God, and the ability
to pass on His love to the rest of the world.
Her warmth and radiant smile drew people to her, and always made us extremely
proud. While she worked to help others
in silence, we witnessed what she chose to
do with her time, and her commitment to
issues of social justice and service to the
poor spoke volumes about her priorities
in this life, and her constant focus on the
next. In good times and in bad, she lived
and firmly believed the words of St. Julie
Billiart: “Ah, qu’il est bon, le bon Dieu,”
“How Good is the Good God.”

Ann-Marie was a board member
of Prospect House, the McCauley Nazareth Home for Boys in Leicester, and the
Mustard Seed, She was an avid supporter of
Marillac Manor, the Pernet Family Health
Center and the Society for the Propagation
of the Faith, Mass Citizens for Life, Aid to
Incarcerated Mothers, Catholic Charities,
the Bishop’s Fund, the Ladies’ Auxiliary
of St. Vincent Hospital and the Massachusetts Medical Society. She was a founding
member of the Associates of the Sisters of
Notre Dame de Namur and supported both
Notre Dame Academy and St. John’s High
School where her children attended She
was named a Dame of Malta in 1994 for
her humanitarian work to aid the sick and
the poor.
Her proudest achievements were

of Shrewsbury; Ann Marie Blute ’76 of
Shrewsbury; Kathleen Blute Madaus ’78

Dr. Michael Blute and his wife Debra Molloy Blute ’69 of Rochester, Minnesota;
John Blute of Columbus, Ohio; former US
Congressman Peter Blute of Shrewsbury;
Joseph Blute of Natick; and her twentythree grandchildren, including Elizabeth
Madaus ’11, and four great-grandchildren.


will use the facility now and in the future
will make the Academy proud. Sr. Evelyn McKenna, provincial leadership team
member of the Sisters of Notre Dame, and
Katherine Lemons, student council president, cut the ribbon officially opening the
new wing. The celebrations continued with
an Open House for alumnae on September
20 and an Open House for potential students on October 7.

Class of 1979 Honors Their Mentor at Reunion ’09
“I’m very grateful to the members of the class of 1979 and
today’s Notre Dame students .
. .who continue to assist us in
feeding those who are hungry,”

Members of the Class of 1979
celebrated their 30th reunion from the
Academy by organizing a trip to the Mustard Seed, a Worcester food and community pantry, where they spent the day
preparing bag lunches and participating
in a general “fall clean-up” of the facility. “This effort is a tribute to one of our
favorite faculty members, Sister Mary
Anne Laughlin, who organized the Love
in Action program and had a passion for
the Mustard Seed and its importance to the
community,” said alumna Cathy Woods
Goodwin, who organized the event along
with Gina Ravelli Iadarola and Lynne
Gemma Perreault. (The Love in Action
program began in 1971 and was originally called “Contact”, a club formed to
help others both at the Academy and in the
community. ) The Class of 1979 worked
in conjunction with juniors and seniors at
the Academy currently involved with the
Love-in-Action program. Students in the
program gathered supplies to package 120
lunches. Cookies were donated by the
Academy’s sophomore class. Alessandra
Delbrocco ’10 and Julie Wood ’11 organized the donated food. Emily Finn ’11
and Liza Perreault ’13, Lynne’s daughter,
joined the co-chairs, Cathy, Lynn and Gina,
and Pat Maher-Harrington, Beth Loconto,
Jean-Marie Paradis, and Michele Italiano
-Perla at the Mustard Seed. In addition to a
thorough cleanup, the Class of 1979 made
a gift of $275 to the Mustard Seed thanks
to donations from classmates.
After their day of service, the
alumnae returned to the Academy and
joined the other reunion classes for a Mass
honoring Sr. Mary Anne and the many
Sisters of Notre Dame who have taught at
the school. The Mass was followed by a
Reunion Reception in the Academy’s new
Student Center. Alumnae toured the new
addition to the academic building and
classroom renovations before going off to
their individual reunion dinners.

Guidance, Language and Library See New Faces
Margaret Mathurin Phoenix ’71
of Shrewsbury is the new Director of
Library/Media. She has worked as a library/media specialist at Bellingham High
School and Abby Kelly Foster Charter
School and was a substitute librarian at
Northborough Free Library where she
was also circulation supervisor. She has
worked as a teaching assistant at Abby
Kelly and at the Montessori Center of
Shrewsbury. She also has been a sales
consultant for Scholastic Books. She
holds a B.A. in English from Marymount
College, N.Y. and a M.A. in Library and
Information Science from the University
of Rhode Island.

The Academy welcomed four new faculty
members to its ranks this fall:
Cynthia Xenakis of Wayland MA is our
new Director of Guidance. She comes to
us from Our Lady of Nazareth Academy
in Wakefield and has also served as Director of Guidance at Trinity Catholic High
School in Newton and as counselor at Keefe
Vocational Tech High School in Framingham. Mrs. Xenakis received her B.A., cum
laude, and her M.Ed. in Counselor Education/Psychology from Boston College.
Ernie Bardier of Charlton Depot has also
joined the Academy’s Guidance Department. He comes to the Academy from Algonquin Regional High School where he
was a counselor for more than thirty-two
years. He graduated with a B.A., magna
cum laude, in Social and Rehabilitation Services and received his M.A. and C.A.G.S.
in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling all
from Assumption College. His daughter,
Jennifer, graduated from the Academy in
2000.
Alumnae Dedicate Classrooms
Kudos to the Classes of 1976 and
Watch for Our New Website
Notre Dame Academy is working with FinalSite, a Connecticut-based
web design firm, to develop the Academy’s new website scheduled to go online in early 2010. Members of the Institutional Advancement Office and our
webmaster, Christine Duggan O’Donnell
’75, will be helping FinalSite design and
implement a more interactive site. The
new website will provide the Academy
with the ability to add information instantaneously; give perspective students
the ability to apply to the Academy online; allow athletic teams to post results
and directions to opposing teams; post
news articles, photographs and video;
give teachers access to their own class
pages; and aid the Guidance Department
in providing students with personalized
on-line information regarding the college-application process.
Valerie Kerxhalli of Holden has joined
the Academy’s Language Department.
She began her career as a private English
instructor in Paris, France and has taught
Spanish and French at Epping Middle/
High School, Epping, N.H., Natick High
School, Hardy Middle School in Washington, D.C., Kennedy Middle School in
Natick, Wachusett Regional High School
and West Boylston Middle/High School.
She graduated from the College of the
Holy Cross with a B.A. in French and
from l’Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in
Paris, France with a Certificate de Didactique des Moyens Audia-Visuels.

websites for the Academy of Notre Dame
in Tyngsborough and Notre Dame Academy in Hingham as well as Notre Dame
Academy in Villanova, Pennsylvania.
The company specializes in bringing cutting edge technology to private and independent schools throughout the globe.
“We are excited about this new partnership,” said Director of Development Julie Glavin ’69. “It will allow students,
faculty, parents, and alumnae greater access to what is happening at the Academy and better means of communicating
with us. The ability to put applications,
request forms, emergency forms on-line
and the ability to send e-messages instantaneously to our constituents will streamline communications and also play into
the Academy’s “Going Green” campaign
to save natural resources,” said Julie.

of three deceased classmates, Carol Gabbett, Melanie Maher Moberg and Mary Ellen Murphy Stidham. Signs on Rooms 23



Nineteen alumnae artists - representing every decade of the
Academy’s history - shared their work at the inaugural exhibit of the
Academy’s Flagg Art Gallery. The exhibit included watercolors, digital
art, pen and ink drawing, needlepoint, photography, acrylics, pastels,
oils, charcoal, oil pastels, and graphic design. “Many of our graduates have made a career of their talents, while others consider their art
work a hobby or a way to gift family and friends,” explained Mrs. Mary
Zywar, Gallery Director.

at the Annual Cape Cod Luncheon at the Hyannis Yacht Club on July 16th. Alumnae will
celebrate in Falmouth on July 14, 2010 at the
Conamessett Inn. Come join us!

Scribe Mary Lou Ballentine enjoyed the NDA
Cape Cod Luncheon at the Hyannis Yacht Club
in July. There she renewed a long-time friendship with classmate Jacqueline Grenier Fitzpatrick. Mary Lou even discovered a cousin
she didn’t know she had when Maureen Handlin Corrigan ’64 introduced herself. Mary
Lou launched a small business in April called
Affordable Transportation Services which assists Cape seniors in getting to medical appointments, the hairdresser, etc. Barbara Coffey
Silva and husband Manny are on their way to a
28-day adventure in South Africa, and looking
forward to several safaris. The last leg of their
trip will include Egypt and a Nile River cruise.
On their return they will fly to Florida for the
winter. Evelyn Baroni had a busy summer running senior trips for St. Mary’s parishioners in
Shrewsbury and is now getting ready to return
to Florida for the winter. Mary Fran Collins

drey, came from Switzerland to spend two weeks
at a camp in Florida and I took them back home.
We all traipsed around France and Switzerland

Cape Cod with their 6 children, spouses, and
11 grandchildren. Nan Connor can be found at
the organ at Notre Dame Long Term Care every
Sunday for Mass and a sing-a-long afterwards.

Martha Dee recently moved from Kittery,
Maine to Florida. Mary Doyle Williams is a
traveling grandmother going back to Rhode Island to babysit for her grandchildren. Margaret
Fay Donabedian and husband Noel are celebrating their fortieth anniversary in a “first class
fashion” with their son Christopher in California. Trish Tinsley Steen recently celebrated
her son’s marriage and honeymoon sendoff to
Ireland. Special thanks to Marianne Birch McWilliams and Trish Tinsley Steen for coordination our forty-fifth reunion!

Carol Starr Wheeler has been living in Malden, MA for the last 17 years. Presently Carol
works at an elderly housing complex in Malden,
as a Resident Service Coordinator. She has one
child, Brian, 16 years of age, who is a student at
B.C. High School.

works part time at Facemakers in Shrewsbury.
Nancy Arvanigian Brown and husband Kermit
have been married for 14 years. Nancy has been
an employee of the Massachusetts Department
of Mental Health for 30 years, most recently
as Compliance Coordinator at Worcester State
Hospital. During the Halloween season she can
be found helping out at her brothers’ family
business, The Halloween Outlet.

Rita Moran-Greiman, Director of Customer
Policy and Satisfaction for National Grid, was
honored with the Katharine F. Erskine Award
at the YWCA’s Tribute to Women Luncheon in
May. Wendy MacIver Mara left teaching high
school English after 13 years in 2006. With her
MBA in hand, she then started law school and
is currently practicing business law in Ormond
Beach, FL. On August 1, she married Robert
Mara, a fellow law student. Wendy has four
children: Melissa (25), who lives in Savannah,
GA after graduating Savannah School of Art
and Design; Angela (23) who attends college in
Daytona Beach, FL; Mitchell (21), a student at
the University of Central Florida; and Felicia, a
senior in high school. The newest addition to
the family is a yellow lab, named Frodo. Julianne Tamasy is senior managing director of
the foreign exchange group for First Republic
Bank, a subsidiary of Bank of America, as well
as being mother to three active boys, Alexander
(15), Julius (13), and Nikolaus (11). Julianne
is also an avid quilter and surfer, having travelled the world in search of the perfect wave.

has moved her practice of intellectual property
law to the international firm of Bryan Cave, LLP
in Chicago. She has been recognized for the past
five years as one of the top 5% of intellectual
property lawyers in the state of Illinois. She is
also on the national board of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Kara has
three children: Samantha (19) who is studying
cosmetology; Tom (17), a high school senior
and Ricky (13), a sports enthusiast. Her dog,
Rai, as she sees it, is her “Rai of hope” in a busy,
hectic life.

Suzanne Wyman Froio. Ann’s documentary film, “The Breast Cancer Diaries”, will

Suzanne works as a nurse in UMass Medical
Center and has two daughters attending Notre
Dame. Marianne McLaughlin MacDonald
lives in the metropolitan Washington, DC area
with her husband and children Kelsey (18),
Amanda (16) and Hayden (13). Marianne is a
board member for the regional youth soccer program. Maria Goodney White recently joined
the management team at BlockCross Holdings

Street Child Services in Worcester, received an
Alumna Award from an Assumption College’s
Passport Program for her service to the local
community. The Passport Program works to
raise awareness of women’s issues around the
world. Anne Hallisey Covino and husband
Paul reside in Upton and are the proud parents
of four sons: Mat, a recent grad of Dean College
who works for Home Depot; Peter a graduate
of Xavier University with a degree in Nursing;

the nicest things about returning to NDA with
my daughters is running into former classmates.
Kathleen Monahan Myshrall’s daughter, Liz,
is a junior with my daughter Sheila. Kate works
for the United Way in Central Mass. She organizes a multitude of programs for adolescent
girls including self-esteem programs and educating girls on financial literacy by tapping area
business women to mentor these teenage girls.
I sat at the Senior Mass with Allison Doody
LeDoux who is the Director in the Office of
Marriage and Family/Respect Life Office for
the Diocese of Worcester. In my Holden travels, I learned that Maura Marshall McCarthy
recently redecorated The Bagel Inn. Maura is
a self-employed decorator and interior painter,
working under the business name “Colors By
Maura,” and I can attest to the fact that Maura’s
work looks terrific.”

Trina McAfee Lachance lost her grandmother,
Ingrid Ward, this past July. Trina writes “she
was a working mom back in the day when that
was unheard of. She was truly very ahead of her

Walling is currently living in Shrewsbury with
her husband of 15 years and her two sons, 11
and 7 years old. April is the ELL teacher for the

spends most of her time sailing to Progreso and
Cozumel, and when she is not working, enjoying everything the ports have to offer, from Mayan ruins to scuba diving. She will be home for
the holidays and hopes to head out to another

Marisa Borst recently finished building &
rendering 3-D Drawings for The Grand Lodge
at Brian Head, Utah. They’re opening in November of this year and are featuring Marisa’s
renderings on their website to market the hotel.
Marissa recently purchased a home in South
Riding, VA and began teaching lyrical, ballet
& hip/hop 3 days a week at the South Riding
Dance Academy. Marissa is enjoying watching
her daughter’s “firsts” – words, steps, move to a
toddler bed, etc. MacKenzie Lewis left her job
in NYC last year and after travelling the world
has been in in Beirut, Lebanon for the past month
and is hoping to stay a bit longer. “A big change
from New York but I’m very happy!” Scribe
Catherine writes that she earned her master’s
degree last year through the National Urban Fellow Program. She is back in the Bay Area and
recently started a new job at Gilead Sciences,
in Government Affairs trying to stem the domestic HIV/AIDS epidemic through working
with community partners across the US. The

Dana Karlsson is currently working at the nonprofit Cedar Tree Foundation. The foundation’s
focus is predominately on three issue areas-environmental education, environmental health
and sustainable agriculture. Scribe Meghan
spent three weeks of September living in Dome,
Ghana. She was volunteering for an organization
called The Sankofa Center for African Dance &
Culture, which travels to remote villages and
schools to educate people and raise awareness
of HIV/AIDS using traditional African dance,
drama, and music. This fall, Meghan will begin
volunteering as a mentor with a group called
Project Adventure. Project Adventure matches a
disabled child with an adult mentor for weekly
visits at a local YMCA where they will use recreation and exercise to build a positive, productive relationship.

Heather Leary graduated from Rensselaer with
a degree in Architecture in May after completing a yearlong thesis investigation. Heather
redefined edge conditions along the coast of
Narragansett Bay by challenging existing environmental, historic and social dynamics. She
is currently working at BRM, Inc. in Worcester
as an administrative assistant and design liaison
until she finds a job in the architecture/design
field. Meg Mills moved to Colorado in May
and is volunteering for a year with AmeriCorps*
VISTA and working for Colorado’s Lt. Governor Barbara O’Brien. She is the Service Project
Coordinator at the Governor’s Commission on
Community Service. Jen Shea spent the last
year in Washington, DC completing her Masters
degree in Tourism Administration, Event and
Meeting Management from George Washington
University. She has since moved to Milwaukee,
Wisconsin where she is working at the Medical
College of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Recruitment Office. Christina
Kach graduated from Northeastern University

Hill Holland Sadler is currently living in London, England and published a book of poetry
called “The Island Year”. Hill’s first book is an
exploration of human relationships in different
locations across the globe throughout various
historical landscapes. Hill is the Recipient of the
High Distinction Award in Poetry at Emerson
College, chosen representative of the College
for the 2008 Intercollegiate Poetry Festival and
recently gave a public reading at Boston College. Classmate Katherine Walsh and former
teacher Barbara Tsantinis are listed in the dedication of Hill’s book.

Scribe Lianne Henderson writes that she spent
the summer at the Cape before returning to St.
Anselm College where she is a criminal justice
major. She is looking forward to her spring fulltime internship win the Domestic Violence Unit
of the Manchester District Court. Lianne is also
very involved with the Spring Break Alternative
program which will take her and others to Orland, ME to work in a co-op. Lindsay Belec had
a fun summer working and living in Providence.
Lindsay is currently working on a paper with
her professor on the research she did this summer. “We’re submitting it to a chemistry journal
by the end of the semester, so I’m pretty excited
to be published! I hope everyone’s doing well
and that you all have an awesome senior year!”
Siobhan Lyons is student teaching seventh
grade English at McDevitt Middle School in
Waltham and loving it. After school she heads
straight to the pool for swim practice as she is
captain of the Brandeis University Swimming
and Diving team. Last year she broke 5 school
records and is hoping for the same or better this
year. She is also works at the Brandeis Athletic
Center at the front desk and at school athletic
events. Marissa Frongillo is a senior at the
College of the Holy Cross, majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Biological Psychology and Pre-Med. She is currently working on a
year long senior thesis project for her Bio-Psych
concentration regarding the impact of emotional
affect on facial memory throughout the lifespan.
Cori Wooldridge is studying Dance and Italian
in Florence, Italy this semester. In the spring she
will choreograph Emmanuel College’s musical, Gypsy, perform in a Senior Dance Recital,
and hopes to intern at a local Dance Company.
Kasey Soucy attends Salem State College in a
5-year nursing program. Currently, she is doing a Med-Surg rotation and next semester will
move to Maternity and Pedi. Kasey is also
working at UMass Memorial in Worcester in the
Cardiac Cath Lab as a PCA. She continues to be
a Resident Assistant at Salem State and is still
part of the National Residence Hall Honorary
which is the organization for the top 1% of the
student body. Patricia Valarioti will be graduating in the spring from St. Anselm’s. She also
worked and lived at the Cape this summer and
is keeping busy this fall with a full time internship at Allstate Insurance and Financial. Jamie
Massarelli spent the summer in Philadelphia
working at a child advocacy non-profit organization and will be applying for pediatric nursing
positions for next year. Jamie was also named
sprint captain of the 09/10 track team at UPenn.
Erin Iandoli has played softball all four years
and loves being a senior on the team. She is a
nursing major. Deirdre Milionis was in Rome
last summer at the American Institute for Roman Culture, studying archaeology and topography. She also interned in NYC for COACH,
Inc. working for Retail Merchandise Planning.
Elena Simoncini worked in a lab at BU this
summer and hopes to go to Medical School in
2011. Pamela Ritacco will graduate in May
2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical
Science. She hopes to then start working in a
lab at a hospital, veterinary clinic, or aquarium
and pursue graduate studies. Rachel Paige has
finally returned to the East Coast after spending
close to nine months in Los Angeles, where she
worked at The Tonight Show being responsible
for feeding the entire crew and staff nightly. Rachel was recently offered an internship at Saturday Night Live, but it would be too much of a
commute! She’s still a Cinema Productions major and an RA, looking forward to graduation.

E.J. Silverberg has recently enlisted in the
Army and will ship out to Fort Jackson, South
Carolina in January. Katherine Murphy has
started an accelerated masters program in communication management at Simmons College in
Boston. Kate Barry is spending the semester
studying French and interning at a French hotel in Paris through Boston University. Ally
Longvall transferred to Worcester State College
to study nursing. She’s currently living in Auburn and settling in with her new puppy, Kady.
Jess Lajoie is studying Biology at UMassAmherst and working to obtain a certificate
in Coastal and Marine Sciences. She will be
spending the spring semester studying at James
Cook University in Cairns, Australia. Maria
Albano recently spent the summer studying
abroad in Florence, Italy, in the same program
as fellow alum Jess Bové. Maria was accepted
into the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State
and is beginning research on an honors thesis
in International Currency. She plans to spend
next summer in the UK doing research on living standards and their correlation with currency fluctuations across developed countries.
Maura Coyne spent two weeks in Ghana this
past January. Scribe Meg Quick is the student
coordinator for a service/immersion trip to the
Jemez Pueblo Reservation in New Mexico this
January. She is also facilitating a group on campus called Dialogues on Race, where students
meet in small groups to discuss issues of race
and racism on campus.

Lucy is at Rider University in New Jersey and
loves it. She is still playing Division 1 softball
for the Broncs and is the starting first baseman.
Lucy now has a major - Communication: TV &
Radio and Multimedia Communication with a
minor in Film and Media Studies. She is also a
member of Lambda Pi Eta which is a Communication & Journalism honors society.

Class of 2008
Colby Chaput, currently at the Air Force Academy in Colorado, finished Combat Survival
Training at the beginning of the summer, which
involved living in the woods for 8 days and then
Resistance Training, which is learning how to
be a POW. Colby was also awarded her Jump
Status by jumping out of a plane multiple times!
Colby is also a Division 1 gymnast for the Falcons! Melanie Leary is currently at URI and
joined the Ultimate Frisbee Team and is loving
it. They play tons of other schools including
Helen Longvall’s. Allie Meehan is a Biology
major at Roger Williams and is leaning toward
becoming a physician’s assistant. Allie is also a
chemistry tutor and runs a weekly workshop for
those needing assistance. Meaghan Williams

Join NDA Alumnae and friends for our annual tour of floral arrangements
and art work. Free admission for Museum Members, $10 museum fee for non
members. Following the tour we will gather for lunch at a local restaurant.
