AUCTION
Co-Chairs, Amy Murphy and Elaine
Robinson once again pulled off an
amazing feat and organized a
smashing success at last month’s
auction. The Broadway inspired
event raised well over $50,000.
Perhaps the biggest winner of the
night was the ECDS student body.
The auction raised the $5,300 used
to order a new traverse climbing
wall for the gym.
The classroom art pieces were a huge
success this year, raising a total of
$4,500. Oscar Gomez was the lucky
winner of the his and hers Apple
watches. The honor of naming the
gymnasium for the 2016-2017 school
year goes to The Weber Family.
A big thank you to all the committee
members: Lauren Carminucci, Christie Cotter, Barbara Distinti, Donna
Kasper, Julie Lewis, Anne Pizzo, Sarah
Raimundo, Martha Richardson, Jodi
Ritch-Myer and Katie Zigmond. Also,
thank you to all the volunteers: Marie Buchta, Andrew Cotter, Grif Meyer, Ilka Neuntenfel, Jennifer Shore
and Maria Vita.

Field Trip
Ms. Kelly and Mrs.
Finegan took their
class to see a
production of
Charlotte’s Web at
the Ridgefield Playhouse after
having read the book in class
earlier this year.
“LOGIC WILL GET YOU
FROM A TO B.
IMAGINATION WILL
TAKE YOU
EVERYWHERE.”
— ALBERT EINSTEIN
They also took the opportunity
to work on restaurant etiquette
at Piccolo’s Restaurant before
the show.
Manners Matter
by Mrs. Valerie Finegan
“Life is what happens every day, style is how you handle it.”
— Valerie Finegan
I believe having great style means having good manners.
Your students are practicing opening and holding doors
for others. This is something that needs practice, for
children, it is not natural to look over their shoulder to
see if anyone is behind them. They also learn this by
example. Please ask your child to hold the door for you.
Happy Spring!
