TOP TIPS
FOR GOING SKYDIVING
1
BOOK DIRECTLY WITH UK PARACHUTING.
By booking directly with the skydiving centre
itself you will avoid expensive commissions. Most
experience companies apply commission to their
bookings. Call UK Parachuting directly on 01502
476131 and you will be speaking with one of our
experienced instructors who will give you all of the
professional and up to date information you need.
2
ENSURE YOU ARE ABLE TO JUMP.
Most people have absolutely nothing to stand in the
way of skydiving. The weight limit for a tandem skydive
is 15.5 stone and when learning to skydive alone
(called AFF training) is 15 stone. You need to be
of good health but do not need to be super fit to
skydive. Anyone from the age of 16 can skydive.
Above the age of 40 you will need a doctor’s certificate
which we will supply. We are also experienced in taking
physically disabled people skydiving, call us to discuss
your requirements.
3
SKYDIVE FOR FREE. JUMP FOR A CHARITY.
Many people who make a parachute jump do so
whilst raising funds for a worthwhile cause. Here at UK
Parachuting we have over 70 charities that we work with
and are happy to work with a charity of your choice too.
Skydiving for these charities in return for you raising a
minimum amount of funds for them you can skydive for
FREE.
4
REST ASSURED WE HAVE YOUR SAFETY AS OUR
PRIORITY.
All parachute centres in the UK must conform to the
British Parachute Association (BPA) rules. One fo those
rules is the legal requiremnet for every tandem student
to be third party insured when jumping out of an aircraft.
Built into the cost of your skydive is the £30 premium
making you a temporary member of the BPA and you are
covered third party up to the value of £2 million.

BE AWARE OF THE WEATHER.
All aviation activity is subject to suitable weather
conditions and parachuting is no exception. UK weather
is notoriously difficult to forecast, especially more than
24 hours in advance. The normal procedure would be to
assume you are going to skydive unless we contact you
to rearrange. If the weather is not looking favourable we
will reschedule you to another day of your choice.

SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH FRIENDS &
FAMILY
On the day of your jump you are very welcome to bring
your friends and family. There is a great atmosphere
at the parachute, your friends and family can wave you
off as you go to the plane and try to spot you as you fly
under canopy returning you exhilarated back to earth.
We have a diner on site serving a wide selection of
drinks and snacks or stay for lunch and celebrate your
success.
TRUST YOUR INSTRUCTOR: YOU ARE IN SAFE
HANDS
All parachutists wear two parachutes when skydiving. If
you are a tandem student the instructor will carry out
the reserve procedures and use the spare parachute if
required. If you are an AFF student you will be taught
to deal with the situation on what course of action
should be taken, this is why the AFF course requires a
minimum of 6 hours ground training before taking
your first solo jump.
DRESS FOR COMFORT
We supply all of the specialist equipment and
clothing that you will need.
This includes a jumpsuit, helmet, goggles and gloves.
On the day of your jump you should dress warmly in
comfortable, loose clothing with suitable footwear such
as trainers. If you wear glasses we have googles that fit
over top and will securely retain your glasses in place.
Goggles will also protect contact lenses from being
displaced.
KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY
On arrival at UK Parachuting report to reception
where you will be required to fill out some paperwork.
You will watch a DVD which will let you know what to
expect on the skydive. From there you will be taken
into our ground training facility where you will receive
a brief that will last approximately 20 minutes and will
outline the procedures for the jump. We will kit you out
and then you will be taken to the aircraft.
