WELCOME
CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF GENERAL MOTORS AT CARLISLE
Carlisle Events and General Motors wish to extend a hearty
welcome to everyone attending the Carlisle GM Nationals.
Our new name, “Carlisle GM Nationals,” was born out of a desire to update the name and
work more closely with General Motors. We are in the process of updating the logo as well
and working with GM to license the use of their logo.
Touring the National Parts Depot (NPD) Showfield you can see many brands represented. Though some have been retired, the enthusiast base remains strong. Then there is the
rebirth of old models, like Camaro that serves to reignite and fuel the passion for this hobby,
which remains strong and viable today.
We are highlighting the Corvair in celebrating its 50th birthday and the Monte
Carlo with its 40th. Don Yenko made the
Corvair into a very successful race car. He
used it to launch his career as a racer and
a Chevrolet dealer featuring high performance vehicles. Using what he learned
from the Corvair, Yenko went on to create
many high performance vehicles out of his
Chevrolet dealership that remain highly
collectable today. Some pristine examples
are on display in the Legendary Super Car
Showroom located in Building G by Gate 1.
The “Monte” has high performance
RICK MARKKO, EVENT MANAGER
roots as well. Straight off the showroom
floor, these stylish coupes roared down the quarter mile in the 13-14 second range. Add
the success of the “Monte” in NASCAR and you had the perfect recipe for a “Muscle Car” that
was, and remains today a very popular choice for those folks collecting, loving and driving
hot rods of the past.
Building T is headquarters for a number of our invited guests including world-renowned
car artist David Snyder with his special form of car art. Sam Auxier will be broadcasting his
Drag Racers Reunion radio show “LIVE” from his roost in Building T before heading to the
track on Friday. Be sure to see “Papa John” Schnatter’s 1971 Z-28. You all know the highly
publicized story of his search for the car of his youth. The one that got away in order to help
his father retain his business and help Papa John start his own business.
We welcome the Riviera Owners Association, attending Carlisle after their National Meet
which was held in nearby Hershey. David North, part of the design team for the Riviera and
Oldsmobile Toronado, joins us in celebrating these very stylish vehicles. The big cars rule
with the Chevrolet Nationals presented by the GNISSC.
In our quest to see 1,000 F-Bodies on our NPD Showfield, we are joined by Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine. They are returning with a bigger & better “Pontiac Pavilion” where some
of their hottest cover and feature cars will be on display. Meet special guests Jim Wangers,
Dave Anderson and Milt Schornack. The editors of Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine will spend
the weekend searching for hot Pontiac’s to capture on film.
The American Camaro Association, hosts of the Camaro Nationals joins us to welcome
Scott Settlemire from Chevrolet and John Fitzpatrick, Camaro Brand Manager. See concept
Camaros that were featured at SEMA and test-drive some brand new Camaros!
Don’t forget, on Saturday you have a chance to win a 383ci Chevrolet engine built by
Gardner Competition Engines, sponsored by Chevy Enthusiast magazine. And on Sunday
you can win a 1979 Monte Carlo.
Use this directory as your weekend guide and please be sure to complete our post-event
survey and sign up for our e-newsletter. Thanks and enjoy the timeless classics produced
by GM.

THE AMERICAN CAMARO ASSOCIATION CHARITY OF CHOICE THE SILENCE OF MARY HOME
The Silence of Mary Home is a very special home committed to serving the chronically poor in the
inner city of Harrisburg, whose needs go unmet. This lay-based mission formed in 1999 by Sue and
Vern Rudy and a group of volunteers. Our primary purpose is to create a Christian family environment where people on the margins of a complex society find sanctuary and have their basic needs
met in the company of a compassionate and caring family. We are not a shelter with limited stays,
nor a group home. Our home is an oasis for castaway or runaway youth from broken or troubled
homes. Young immigrants, refugees along with pregnant adults and teens, needy mothers with
small children the old and the troubled, have all found shelter, assistance, compassion and hope at
the Silence of Mary.
WHO DOES ALL THIS?
Adult volunteers with various skills who feel called to serve the troubled youth of the area volunteer in the ministry. Our current
need for volunteers include: Drivers, tutors for school skills, cooking coaches, craft instructors and helpers of different skill levels.
CONTINUED SUCCESS!!
Thanks to direct donations from the show and contacts made through the show, the HOME continues to be a strong entity in the
community providing help to all those in need. We look forward to helping the home even more in the coming years.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PART OF OUR SUCCESS, please send your donations to the address below. Also if you would like to
receive our newsletter drop us a request at the same address.

2011 PREVIEW
HOT RODDERS OF TOMORROW ENGINE CHALLENGE
BE HERE NEXT YEAR TO SEE THE
REGIONAL FINALS
OF HOT RODDERS OF TOMORROW ENGINE CHALLENGE!
Take identical 350 Chevys “dressed out” with 4 BBL carbs, chrome air cleaners and valve covers,
aluminum manifolds, headers and high performance ignition components (to replicate engines
found in today’s muscle cars and hot rods); invite local area high schools with teams of five students to compete against each other and the clock – disassembling and reassembling the engine all
with hand tools; add the pressure of working while being judged by officials and cheered on by the
Carlisle GM Nationals faithful and you have the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge!
We are very excited to announce a partnership with the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow, to host the Northeast Regional Finals at the
2011 Carlisle GM Nationals. The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is an educational program for high school students in automotive technology programs. The individual schools set standards and guidelines for involvement. Grades, attendance and skill level are all factors
for participation. Through the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge, students get an opportunity to showcase their talents and
knowledge gained during classroom sessions and workshops. The engine challenge provides opportunities to develop teamwork and to
demonstrate the students’ skills, enthusiasm, and ingenuity. The staff of The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is 100% volunteer and cannot be
thanked enough for the thousands of hours they donate to this great event every year.
We hope to see a team coming through Carlisle take the national title, at the SEMA Show, in the very near future!
For More Information on Hot Rodders of Tomorrow or to inquire on behalf of your high school
vocational program, visit www.hotroddersoftomorrow.com or email Rodney Bingham

FALLEN HEROES CAMARO
Kelly Fromm went to work almost immediately on
her Victory Red SS, turning it into an
award-winning custom show
car. The first version of Kelly’s
Camaro, named SheDevil,
has taken 1st Place in four
out five shows it competed
in. In December of 2009, Kelly
was driving SheDevil down Sgt.
Joseph Blvd. (named in memory of
a friend of Kelly’s who gave his life for our country, while serving in the 82nd Airborne
in Iraq) and was immediately inspired to take SheDevil in a completely different direction. The 2010 Fallen Heroes Camaro, found this weekend in Building T, is a moving
and beautiful car with images of American and military spirit, ranging from the bald
eagle on the rear to the 82nd Airborne emblem on the roof.
PAPA JOHN SCHNATTER’S
1971 Z28 CAMARO
Papa John Schnatter’s original 1971 Z28
Camaro will be on display in Building T
all weekend. In August of last year, after
years of searching, Schnatter was finally
reunited with his Camaro. Special thanks
to the local Papa John’s franchises for
making this display a reality.
LINGENFELTER 2010
TA CONCEPT CAR
TJIN EDITION ROADSHOW 2010 CAMARO SS
Built for General Motors for the 2009 SEMA show, the Tjin Edition RoadShow Camaro
won the GM Design Award for Best GM vehicle at the 2009 SEMA Show. The Tjin Edition RoadShow Chevy Camaro, in Building T this weekend, will also serve as the feature
car on the 2010 Tjin Edition RoadShow tour. More than thirty top companies made
parts for this Camaro, breaking the mold of modern muscle customization.
The Lingenfelter TA concept car was built
from a 2010 Camaro SS and is powered
by a LS based 455 CID engine that produces 655 horsepower and 610 lbs ft.
of torque. Lingenfelter’s custom TA was
built around the classic ’71 Trans Am
interior and exterior theme. The TA features a classic shaker hood, new front fascia, revised front and rear quarter panels,
functional front fender vents and rear
spoiler. To finish off the exterior the LTA
has new lighting front and rear, badging,
custom honeycomb 20” wheels, Nitto
tires and a Corsa exhaust. See the white
LTA in the Pontiac Pavilion and the Blue
LTA in Building T.
FIREBREATHER
You will definitely want to see FireBreather, an incredible 2010 Pontiac Firebird, built
to star in the upcoming sci-fi film Jinn. Beautifully designed by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad,
writer and director of the film, in conjunction with Exodus Pictures and Classic Design
Concepts, this breathtaking Camaro-based creation will stop you in your tracks! Classic
Design Concepts reports they plan to produce and sell limited-editions of Firebreather,
starting under $60K.

2009 CLUB CHALLENGE
RESULTS
Each year awards are presented to the
three clubs who had the most registrations. Here are last year’s winners:
Chip Miller, co-founder of Carlisle
Events died in March 2004 of complications related to Amyloidosis. Chip
may have been diagnosed earlier
and still be with us today had awareness of the disease been greater.
Amyloidosis is a disease caused by
the abnormal accumulation of protein molecules in body tissues. Signs
and symptoms depend on the organs
affected. The wide range of signs
and symptoms makes it difficult to
diagnose, and there may even be no
symptoms. Some signs and symptoms may include:
• Swelling of ankles and legs
• Shortness of breath
• Numbness/tingling in hands/feet
• Abnormal protein in urine
• Severe fatigue
• Enlarged tongue
• Irregular heartbeat
• Difficulty swallowing
• Skin changes
• Diarrhea
• Weakness
