Dear Friends,
I am extremely happy to welcome you to our 14th annual Golf Tournament. It is a friendly
gathering of people united by a common and worthy cause; to support our Charity in its
efforts to help the sick and poor in developing countries. The willingness of our sponsors to
help those in need has prevailed once again, and we are delighted to have you with us today!
As you will hear in more detail during the event, our original project, the fight against
AIDS, continues to be at the forefront of our work and this year we have taken advantage of
improvements in the National Health Services of Zimbabwe. This has enabled us to extend our
reach to have a far greater impact on an increased number of people in need.
Our latest projects are:
- The project for the early diagnosis and prevention of the cervical carcinoma. After
18 months of hard work, more than 10,000 women have been screened and 310 of them
were found to have cancerous cells, they were promptly taken care of, thus saving their lives.
- At the Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital, we started the Intensive Cardiac Therapy Unit and
over 1,300 cardiac patients have been treated so far.
For both of these projects, we are the first to extend these services free of charge.
Additionally, we added three new classrooms to the school in St. Marcellino Village. This has
allowed us to increase our capacity in the school, which we built only last year.
As usual, we use the donations directed to us in such a way as to be of maximum benefit to the
sick and poor, in areas where their needs are really important.
We repeat our plea for your unwavering support for a very good cause!
Thank you very much for being here!

STORY from the GROUND
Dear Friends,
You are now gathered for a great Golf Tournament in Dublin, masterly organised by our
Pioneer Investments friends to support life in Zimbabwe.
I thank you all for participating and showing your concern on the issues of life and death we
face here daily.
Our projects have touched many lives this year, and saved hundreds. The story that is pouring
out of my heart, and the one I want to share with you, is the story of Sabina. Sabina is a young
mother of 25 who arrived dehydrated to our Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital.

Venetian Beads by Cristal Boutique, Abano Terme
The history of bead making in Venice goes back to the days of Marco Polo when
he returned from his travels with the beads of Asia. Local artisans used their glass
making skills to reproduce these stones in glass.
These one-off, hand crafted pieces were made especially for our golf event. It is
their ancient origin and their beauty (the fruit of this historic art), that makes them
precious and sought after on every continent.
The French writer and historian of the 18th Century, Francois-Rene de
Chateaubriand wrote about the beads, after visiting Venice: “They spun before me,
as time spins our fragile life, a thin rope of glass: it was of that glass that the bead was
made…A Venetian hand has shaped the ornament.”
