SPARK E-magazine | Volume 1| Issue 1| 8 ARTICLE CORNER BlogSpot Yesha Amin, 3rd SEM Computer Engineering (SY). WHAT IS ‘ACTUALLY’ IN THE OCEAN? Salut fellas, with a silent t. I hope you have landed safely to this column which will be called BlogSpot from this moment onwards. I’m Yesha Amin, trying to take few minutes of your precious life and investing it into the launch of our brand new E-Magazine – “SPARK”. Yes! ‘Our’ magazine. You are free to send us anything and everything, unless the content is, of course invalid. So, you must be thinking what is all this about? What’s the agenda behind the heading? Well slow down already! I’m here to explain everything. This is a blog post which will be updated every month with the new issue of SPARK. I’ll be coming up with the most interesting and trendy topics to debate upon. Today’s topic for the pillar post is “What is actually in the ocean?” It goes like this: If you think oceans are fascinating and you want to understand how the universe works, it’s not enough to be an expert on “what should be ideally in the ocean”. You have to understand and research on WHAT IS ACTUALLY IN THE OCEAN. The same is for blog culture. It’s good to know about what people ought to watch, read and listen to, ideally; all that is good stuff, talking about, and worth arguing about. But, what I’ve seen from some of the failed blogs is, people only care to talk, watch or get angry about irrational ideas & the fact that they do – and the way they do – tells you something about them. So, while it is explained, the “Ocean contains” part still holds a tight place in explaining the concept that a blogger should write on “What is actually in the ocean” rather than writing on “What should be ideally in the ocean”. People judging and criticizing other people and writing about them in harsh language is not what to be teached. Why criticize? Why fluff writings? Is it what is to be written in the pop culture? Can’t we just write upon what is actually important rather than fluff? Well, I assure you that BlogSpot will remain far from fluff writing but do forgive me if it’s a bad day or let me precisely state - Due day. Oops! I’ve already taken a lot of your time, I see. And hence I don’t want to bore you guys; I quit for today. Catch you guys later, next month, with a refreshing new idea. You can also send the feedback of BlogSpot through your coordinators or can directly contact me. Doors are always open for any positive suggestions. Adios. SPARK E-magazine | Volume 1| Issue 1| 9 God as a “Needless Hypothesis” - Surabhi S. Modak, 3rd Semester, Computer Engineering Dept. It is not necessary to believe in god to be a good person. In a way, the traditional nation of god is outdated. One can be spiritual but not religious. Some of the best people in history did not believe in god, while some of the worst deeds were committed in his name. Fanaticism, unquestioning and unquestionable dogma, became the adrenaline, the testosterone, of religion; violence, latent or manifest, lay at the heart of all religious creeds. The backlash against religion has been spearheaded by scientists like Richard Dawkins and Sam Ham’s who have cogently and eloquently argued that far from being a negation of moral codes and an ethical life, atheism as a form of consciousness- raising is an affirmation of spiritual transcendence. When the French philosopher- mathematician Pierre-Simon Laplace presented a copy of his monumental work on the creation of the universe, Mecanique-Celeste, to Napoleon, the Soldier-emperor asked why there was no mention of god in the book. Laplace replied ‘I had no need of that hypothesis’. Is it time we outgrew that needless hypothesis?’ Those who say it is can do so with the blessing of Pope Francis. SPARK E-magazine | Volume 1| Issue 1| 17 (5)Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Plant, Savli 16th July 2015 by 5th Sem Civil Engineering Students Ready-mix concrete is concrete that is manufactured in a factory or batching plant, according to a set recipe, and then delivered to a work site, by truck mounted in–transit mixers. This results in a precise mixture, allowing special concrete mixtures to be developed and implemented on construction sites. Ready-mix concrete is also referred as the customized concrete products for commercial purpose. Readymix concrete, or RMC as it is popularly called, refers to concrete that is specifically manufactured for delivery to the customer's construction site in a freshly mixed and plastic or unhardened state. Concrete itself is a mixture of Portland cement, water and aggregates comprising sand and gravel or crushed stone. In traditional work sites, each of these materials is procured separately and mixed in specified proportions at site to make concrete.
