Message from the President:
SWAT 2016, three days of attending demos, visiting with and making new friends, and exploring vendor booths to see what’s new,
etc. has come and gone. To those who volunteered to staff our
demonstration room, a special thanks for a job well done. John
Astrello responded to an email from SWAT asking anyone interested in serving on the Executive Committee to submit a brief resume
and was elected Second Vice President of SWAT. Congratulations
John.
Signup for our Ladies Beginning Turner class on October 21-22 is
available on the website. Cost of the class is $100.00 and includes
meals and wood. Class size limited to six students.

November Quarterly Challenge – A Christmas Centerpiece.
Demonstrators this month will be Sammy Thomason and Fred
Uphoff showing different ways to hold/keep wood on a lathe.

HCW Board of Directors meetings are held at Wesley United
Methodist Chruch on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM.
Board meetings are open to all members.
HCW Mission:
Hunt County Woodturners, Inc. ( a Texas non-profit corporation) also
known as Hunt County Woodturners (HCW), is organized exclusively
for educational purposes, and its mission is to educate woodturners and
the public in and about the art and craft of woodturning. This mission
is accomplished by encouraging and facilitating the establishment of
training programs for woodturners; by disseminating information about
sources of material and equipment; by exposing the art of woodturning
to the public; and by serving as a center of information about woodturning for members, galleries, other interested groups, and the general public. Further, the Corporation is organized exclusively for educational
purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Financial records are available for inspection upon request.

Meeting was called to order by President, Arlan Purdy.

 Quarterly Challenge for November—

meeting.
 SWAT—HCWT had a very good
member involvement this year.
 Beginning turning class for ladies set
for October 21-22. Sign up on website.$100.00 for two days and lunch
provided.
 Bois d’Arch Bash—September 24th
in Commerce need booth maned 9am
to 6pm, please sign up on website.
 October 22—Our club will conduct a
Girl Scout class in Rowlett.
 Christmas Dinner—December 9th.

of the Waco Trib on the weekend of
SWAT.
