Unique character of Sardinia Vermentino di Sardegna Nuraghe Crabioni AREA OF PRODUCTION Sorso, Province of Sassari. D.O.C. CONTROLLED ORIGIN OF DENOMINATION Vermentino di Sardegna. GRAPES Vermentino, historical, autochthonous Sardinian variety. THE VINEYARD In the Tresmontes locality, 70 m. above sea level, well ventilated. Density per hectere: 6250 grapevines - yield: 75 quintals. TYPE OF TRAINING Vertical trellis with simple Guyot pruning. TYPE OF SOIL From sandy to sandy-clayish, chalky and chalky-clayish. BLEND 100% Vermentino. Vinification. The grapes are hand harvested after their level of ripeness on the vine is checked. The grapes are pressed, destemmed and chilled to 12° C. Soft pressed. The wine then undergoes a long rest on the yeast, which is periodically resettled, until it is bottled. Characteristics. Straw yellow colour with greenish brushstrokes, intense aroma with sweet exotic fruit notes, shades of magnolia, elderberry, and almond kernels. A dry wine, it opens with an agreeable sensation of well balanced freshness, then mellowing, with a long, clean finish. The mouth feel is mellow but lively, due to its well balanced acidity. Advice. A classical match for fish, ideal for dishes such as grilled prawns and sea bass; not to mention fish soups, Mediterranean style baked fish. Excellent as an aperitif. CONTROLLED ORIGIN OF DENOMINATION Cannonau di Sardegna. THE VINEYARD In the Marritza locality, 200 m. from the sea, 10 m. above sea level, well ventilated. Density per hectare: 6250 grapevines - yield: 80 quintals. TYPE OF TRAINING Spur Cordon trained. TYPE OF SOIL Sandy to clayish. BLEND 100% Cannonau. Vinification. After hand harvesting in wooden crates, the grapes are destemmed and macerated in their skins, at controlled temperature. The fermentation of must then carries on in stainless steel tanks, at controlled temperature until bottling. Characteristics. The colour is ruby red, intense aroma with sweet tones of ripe red fruit: cherries, maraschino cherries in alcohol and plums. A warm, strong, mellow and intense wine, with a long aromatic persistence. Well balanced and greatly harmonious. Advice. A greatly adaptable wine, it can even be paired with fatty fish such as tuna or mackerel, sardines and anchovies. Poultry, kid, lamb and Sardinian suckling pig. Serving temperature: 15-17°C. GRAPES Vermentino, a historical, autochthonous Sardinian variety. THE VINEYARD In the Tresmontes locality, 70 m. above sea level, well ventilated. Density per Hectare: 6250 grapevines - yield: 75 quintals. TYPE OF TRAINING Vertical trellis with simple Guyot pruning. TYPE OF SOIL From sandy to clayish, chalky and chalky-clayish. BLEND 100 % Vermentino. Vinification. The grapes are hand harvested after their level of ripeness is checked. The grapes are pressed, de-stemmed and chilled to 12° C. Soft pressed. The free-run must obtained, after a first decanting, is fermented at 18° C. It undergoes a long rest on the yeast, until bottling. Characteristics. Brilliant straw yellow colour with greenish lights. Intense and continuous aroma, notes of pear and lime tree, it is enriched by citrus and vegetable fragrances. Kanimari is a fresh, dry wine, with a distinct acid perception, initially unveiling the citrus fragrance. A warm, tasty, elegant wine, with a lengthy taste and smell persistence. Advice. A classical fish wine, ideal for grilled sea food and fish; but also with fish soups, and Mediterranean style baked fish. Excellent aperitif. Serving temperature: 8°-10° C. Unique character of Sardinia Moscato di SorsoSennori Nuraghe Crabioni AREA OF PRODUCTION Sorso, Province of Sassari. D.O.C. CONTROLLED ORIGIN OF DENOMINATION Moscato di Sorso-Sennori. GRAPES White Muscat. The vineyard In the Tresmontes locality, 70 m. above sea level, well ventilated. Density per hectare: 4200 grapevines - yield: 40 quintals. TYPE OF TRAINING Vertical trellis with simple Guyot pruning. Type of soil Chalky-clayish. Blend 100% Muscat Grapes. Vinification. After being hand harvested in crates, and the best bunches selected, the grapes are pressed and de-stemmed and macerated in the skins at controlled temperature. Fermentation continues in stainless steel tanks, the wine is left for long periods on yeast, which is periodically replaced in suspension. Characteristics. The colour is golden yellow; the aroma is exciting both in its intensity and its range, recalling apricots, citrus fruit and honey. The mouth feel is rich, greatly concentrated and powerful. The aftertaste is extremely lengthy and destined to increase with the time spent bottled. Sipping this wine gives an uncannily real impression of actually tasting grapes plucked from the vine. Advice. A wine for dessert, for meditation, for socializing. Serving temperature: 15°-17° C. Unique character of Sardinia Rosso Passito Nuraghe Crabioni AREA OF PRODUCTION Sorso, Province of Sassari. Grapes Cannonau, autochthonous Sardinian variety. CLassification IGT Romangia Rosso. The vineyard In the Marritza locality, 160 m. above sea level, well ventilated. Density per hectare: 6250 grapevines - yield: 80 quintals. Type of training Spurred cordon. Type of soil Sandy. blend 100% Cannonau. Vinification. The drying of cannonau grapes has produced an excellent result in terms of quality. A delayed grape harvest enabled us to obtain a strong high-alcohol wine. After being harvested by hand in crates, the grapes are destemmed and macerated with the skins at controlled temperature. Fermentation continues in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Characteristics. The colour is ruby red with purplish hints. The intense aroma recalls ripe plums and cherries. A potent, warm and mellow wine, with a lengthy aromatic persistence. Well balanced and very harmonious. It stands out for its originality and quality. It’s an exciting wine. Advice. A wine for dessert, for meditation, for socializing. It can be paired with chocolate. Nuraghe Crabioni a recognized success “Wines of excellence in Sardegna: Kanimari 2011” IIIII I vini d’Italia - Guida espresso 2013 For a young business, although having a strong background of experience and expertise, receiving acknowledgements for its work is very important. In a very short time, Nuraghe Crabioni winery has proven to be successful at both local and national level. At Vinitaly 2011, the most outstanding wine fair in the world, Cannonau and Sussinku received the Honourable Mention at the important International Wine Competition. Great satisfaction came from the prestigious Sommelier Wine Awards London where Cannonau and Sussinku were awarded the gold medal (Gold List 2012) from the Italian Touring Club selection “Vini buoni d’Italia” where 2012 Sussinku received the Crown. In 2013 Nuraghe Crabioni gained credit overseas as well. Wine&Spirits and Wine Spectator, two of the most important US wine magazines, rated Cannonau 2010 as the best wine of the year for southern Italy and isles and rewarded the winery with very high scores.
