He is best known for the development of the VAIC, which he has used to measure the efficiency of key resources in com-panies. Lately he has applied this approach to measure the efficiency of regions in Croatia (IBEC, 2003). VAIC is a financial valuation method. Overview of 25 Valuation and Measurement Methods 365 A.24.1 Distinctions and Definitions Pulic (IBEC, 2003) states that two key resources create value added in companies: capital employed and intellectual capital. Capital employed consists of physical and financial capital. Intellectual capital consists of human and structural capital. Value added is the output minus the input of a firm. Output is sales revenue; input is everything that comes from outside the company. «Measuring Business Excellence» - The Journal of Business Performance Measurement – Measuring intangible assets – the state of the art ( Emerald Group Publishing, Volume 8, Number 1, 2004) 2. »Intellectual Capital for Communities - Nations, Regions, Cities and other Communities» - Elsevier Butterworth Heinemann, Boston 3. »Wissensbilanz zur Kommunikation und Steuerung des Intellektuellen Kapitals, Ansaetze und Praxis» - Competence Center des Frauenhof Instituts, EU 4. «Knowledge Economics - Emerging» - Entovation Collective Readings, USA 5. “ International Journal of Enterpreneurship and Innovation Management” Volume 4, No.4, 2004 Međunarodna konferencija - Austrija VAIC™ na sveučilištu u Poljskoj VAIC™ na poljskom sveučilištu VAIC™ na turskom sveučilištu VAIC™ u Meksiku Knjiga na amazonu amazon.com Web preporuke – učite od stručnjaka Singapore - konferencija 2004 Knowledge management BoardDebra Amidon komentira U društvu IK - pionira In Intellectual Capital for Communities, Editors Ahmed Bounfour and Leif Edvinsson have brought together the best minds in intellectual capital throughout the world to focus on a new and fertile area of research: measuring and managing the intellectual capital of communities. This is a creative and cutting-edge area of research that has the potential to change how public sector planning and development is done. Once there is a clear way to identify where wealth is created in a given nation, region, or city, this process has the potential to reveal a huge knowledge repository in the public sector with a significant, but idle, potential for collective wealth creation—the wealth of nations in waiting.
