We invite you to visit
NOVA Chemicals Community Nature Trail
To mark a significant growth milestone — NOVA Chemicals’ Polyethylene 1 Expansion Project at the Joffre Site —
we announced this environmental legacy project in 2013. The NOVA Chemicals Community Nature Trail is now open
for the enjoyment of the community and our employees.
The 89-hectare area is unique in many ways and demonstrates how wildlife habitat /
agricultural / industrial / recreational land uses can exist harmoniously together. The
five kilometres of trail system provide an excellent opportunity for people to connect
with nature and learn about local wildlife and plants — as well as the area’s history.
Amenities:
• 5 km of looped trails
• Parking area and trail head
• Picnic areas
• Small bridge crossings
• Interpretive signage
• Reforestation

The Community Nature Trail is located within easy driving distance of many
Central Alberta communities: just southwest of the Hamlet of Joffre on
Township Rd 39-0 between Highway 815 and Freedom Road.

Marked trails, viewpoints, benches and a picnic area invite you to explore this
89-hectare (220-acre) site located just north of NOVA Chemicals Joffre Site.
Signage along the trail identifies some of the area’s special features.
