What do you know? It’s been a
week since MusicRow honored
Blake Shelton in Nashville during
CRS for the most spins on the
CountryBreakout Chart for 2013.
Now that radio reporters are settled
back behind their desks, they chose
to spin “Doin’ What She Likes” to
the top of our chart with an
additional 3,256 rotations.
Written by Phil O’Donnell and Wade Kirby, the Warner Bros. single was
favorably reviewed byMusicRow’s Robert K. Oermann...(continued pg. 6)
Thursday, February 27, 2014
in December. “What she likes turns out to be Mexican food he
brings home, speeding in his car, singing silly songs and, most of
all, making love all night. The dreamy, rhythmic, midtempo song
is expertly written and — it goes without saying — sung by a
country-music master.”
But seriously, the real question is: have you seen the music video
for the single? Did he actually set a house on fire with a
watermelon candle? We can't tell by the scent of the flames, but
the upstairs ordeal looked pretty genuine to us. One thing is sure
though, the Mason Dixon-directed narrative is quite entertaining.
These days it seems everything Shelton touches turns as hot as
his stardom. Ratings for the season premiere of The Voice were
through the roof, but it doesn’t stop there. He’s set to co-host the
live broadcast of the 49th Annual ACM Awards live, April 6 on
CBS from Las Vegas for the fourth year in a row, this is the
second year co-hosting with Luke Bryan. VOICES OF SECONDARY RADIO
Dave Tyler, WTRS/Ocala, FL
“We love Country music as much as
our listeners and share their
excitement for the artists. My Country
FM is far from vanilla. We are fun,
have attitude, and love what our
listeners love: hunting, muddy trucks,
and Country music. We present the
best concerts, great CD weekends,
and we have a huge listener
interaction. Our listeners are our
friends. Ocala/Gainesville is a great
market.
Dave Tyler
In 2014, I’m excited to hear Thomas Rhett,
Joel Crouse and I am pumped about a new gal named Clare
Dunn! She rocks! There’s also a young Nashville cat named
Ryan Griffin who is about to be huge! I would love to go on
the record as the first PD in the country to call it!”

But if you wanna feel the heat in person, catch him live
for recently announced stops at NYC's Madison Square Garden,
Los Angeles' the Hollywood Bowl, and Chicago's Wrigley Field
as part of his upcoming Ten Times Crazier Tour 2014.
