From your missionary
We have just completed
another year of Children’s
Camp. I am excited to share
with you that things went very
well for both the girls camp and
the boys camp
.
Jayme Raybon and Sonya
Mizell led the girls camp and
there were 26 girls registered,
Gary Leutzinger and there were two salvations.
Their theme was “Daughter of
the King”. I am grateful for all of counselors and junior
counselors who ministered to the girls who attended.
The boys camp just keeps getting better every year.
There were 19 campers, and by the end of the week
there were eight boys who gave their lives to Christ. I
really appreciate Bobby Ryals and Pastor Ronnie Duncan
for their leadership and for leading the Bible studies. We
also had a great group of junior counselors who did an
excellent job, and I am thankful for each one who
assisted during the week. I also want to thank Scott
Alexander for bringing the messages during our worship.
and the teachers. On August 2 we will be asking our
churches to gather at the schools to pray. The schools are
listed on page 5 in this newsletter. There will be
prayerwalk leaders and prayer guides at all locations.
Please take this designated time to go to a school and
pray. I know that you will agree with me that our
adversary is working hard to destroy our children. We
need to stand together and pray that God will work in our
schools and that Christians will be bold to witness and
reach students and teachers in our schools with the
Gospel.
May God help us as we continue to unite together to
impact our communities and world with the Good News!!
Bro. Gary
Ministers Fellowship
in August focuses on
revival preparation
Steve Franz will be the guest
speaker at the Ministers
Fellowship on August 11 at
10:30 a.m. at Houston Baptist
Center.
The theme for boys camp was “Put On the Full Armor of
God”. The boys learned what it meant to put on the
armor of God each day as we battle the adversary. The
question that was always asked by Bro. Scott was, “Are
you ready?”
That is a good question we each need to ask ourselves
when we face each new day. We are in a spiritual battle,
and if we are not ready then we will always feel defeated.
The Bible instructs us in Ephesians 6:11 to put on the
whole armor of God so that we can stand against the
schemes of the devil. As we encouraged the boys during
camp to put on the armor of God, I want to encourage
each of you to make sure that you are dressed for battle
and that we know that we can have victory over
temptation in our lives.
It won’t be long now until our children will be going back
to school, and every year we ask our churches to gather
at school houses in our counties to pray for the children
Steve Franz
Steve is a member of the
Conference of Georgia
Baptist Evangelists. He will
be speaking about
preparation for revival in the
local church.
After the meeting, the group will go out to eat at a local
restaurant.

Many folks help make children’s camps great
The Believe Girls Camp 2014 at Camp Houston was led
by Jayme Raybon and Sonya Mizzell. Other adults who
helped were Dora Castillo and Shonna Warren as well as
Deanna Morgan, Cheryl Walls, and Lynn Walls. Junior
counselors included Tatum Bellany, Ashley Castillo,
Jersse Dickerson, Jordan Dickerson, Rachel Eidenire,
Ruby Gaye, Brooklyn Mizell, Carly Patrick, Faith
Stewart, and Jessica Wilson. All these people’s efforts
resulted in the 26 girl campers having a meaningful
spiritual experience as well as a lot of fun. Two campers
made professions of faith.
Ryals. Scott Alexander served as camp pastor. Junior
counselors included Nathan Green, Nick Green, Adam
Posey, and Jonathon Walls. Of the 19 boy campers,
eight made professions of faith.
The Connect Boys Camp 2014 was led by Gary
Leutzinger with help from Ronnie Duncan and Bobby
Camp Houston is a ministry of the 41 churches of
Houston Baptist Association.
Jeffrey Walls was the lifeguard for both camps. Camp
committee members Ruthel Patrick and Evelyn Polke
contributed to the success of the camps as always.
Thanks also to all the churches who provided meals for
the campers and workers. Thank you to everyone who
helped with the children’s camps this year.
