Real estate transactions were way up, a new government shows lots of potential, more flights and more cruise ships occurred. Big news for the island is that after extensive talks, Southwest Airlines will be flying direct to Roatan in the spring. This is from an inside source and has yet to be announced by the airline but they provide excellent service at very competitive prices so the extra flights and the lower fares will certainly be a boon to tourism and business here. Honduras takes the Lead in Vegetables and Fruits Exports The deputy director of Honduras’ National Agricultural Health Service (SENASA), Edgar Santamaría, confirmed that the country’s export volumes of non-traditional fruits and vegetables have exceeded those of the Dominican December 2, 2014. Honduras coffee exports more than double in November 2014 Coffee exports from Honduras, Central America’s top producer, more than doubled in November from the same month last year, helped by a rise in coffee prices worldwide, industry officials said on Monday. In addition, funds will also be allocated for social programs and improving some state run companies. “These new funds will support the economy; we have been offered a facility to undertake a series of important projects for the country to help us in our goals of becoming competitive, because now we are not competing with the region, but with the world,” said the Government in a statement.
