THE FIRST TEE OF SOUTH PUGET SOUND
The First Tee curriculum was developed by
experts in the field. The program is delivered by
caring adults (coaches) who have been formally
trained by The First Tee of South Puget Sound.
Each lesson is designed to be fun, interactive
and engaging. Our coaches follow a philosophy
centered on positively reinforcing your child’s
actions and ensuring a great experience. The
program helps youth learn life skills and core
values through the sport of golf. Equipment is
provided.
Choosing a class level
4-6 YEARS: LITTLE DRIVERS is the introductory
level program. The program uses SNAG (Staring
New At Golf) equipment. SNAG is modified,
developmentally appropriate golf equipment
consisting of oversized clubs, tennis-style balls,
and a variety of targets.
7-12 YEARS: Beginners should sign up for PLAYer
level, which introduces the game of golf with
special emphasis on learning golf skills. If the
player has experience or has completed the
PLAYer level, they will sign up for the PLAYer/
PAR class.
12-17 YEARS: After passing the PAR level,
participants should sign up for the BIRDIE level.
This is more advanced level, and class will
emphasize goal-setting both on and off the golf
course.
*Please note: each child progresses differently
in our program. Some stay in one level for 3
years while some move on to the next level in
6 months. Our program is open to all levels of
ability!
