Top musicians to perform `3 BY 3` At JCC thanks to Sokolof Javitch
Top musicians to perform ‘3 BY 3’ At JCC thanks to Sokolof Javitch support The Omaha Chamber Music Society will present “3 BY 3” at the JCC on Sunday, April 7, at 7 p.m. This exceptional concert features three top professionals performing all-time great works by three European masters: Franz Joseph Haydn, Maurice Ravel and Sergei Rachmaninoff. The concert, followed by a dessert reception, is free and open to the public thanks to support from the Sokolof Javitch Music Fund. Included on the program are Haydn’s delightful Trio in G major; Ravel’s irresistible Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello; and the third movement of Rachmaninoff’s passionate Sonata in G minor for Cello and Piano. Performers are violinist Susanna Perry Gilmore, concertmaster of the Omaha Symphony; Paul Ledwon, principal cello of the Omaha Symphony; and pianist Yulia Kalashnikova, freelance musician and faculty member at the Omaha Conservatory of Music. Last year, the Sokolof Javitch Music Fund underwrote “Legacies: Extraordinary Chamber Music by Jewish Composers.” The concert drew a capacity audience from the entire Omaha community and received tremendously favorable response.
