Welcome Message
Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues,
Dear Partners,
Dear Partners,
As Past President it is my privilege to be able to take this opportunity to thank
you once again for your contribution to making the 2014 PARC Congress in
Dubai the success it was. Together we have helped in the creation of ARLAR
and we have revived the Pan Arab Rheumatology.
The Moroccan Society for Rheumatology is proud to welcome the first Pan
Arab Rheumatology Congress in its new form ARLAR 2016, jointly organized
with its 26th National Annual Congress. We are honored to have the privilege
of organizing this event under the high patronage of his majesty the King
Mohammed VI.
Now as we work further towards fulfilling the stated mission of ARLAR I
would like to reach out to you once again, friends and colleagues, to ask for
your continued support in the Congress of Marrakech as it is the continuation
of what we successfully achieved together. ARLAR 2016 promises to be a
fine blend of science between the east and west of Arabic countries.
On my behalf and on behalf of Moroccan organizers, I am delighted to welcome
our rheumatology colleagues from the Arab world in Marrakech in 2016.
The choice of Marrakech was unanimous due to its excellent position in
the world which can welcome huge events and that are also attractive to
tourists. Marrakech gathers an important medical, scientific and university
community of not only the Arab world but also of the Asian, European and
American worlds.
During three days, about 800 colleagues, speakers and professionals of the
pharmaceutical industry will participate in the in-service training and the
consolidation of the partnership between rheumatology professionals and
the research world encased within the Arab world. This is an opportunity to
share and discuss the latest news of rheumatology. Our specialty knows,
indeed in recent years a wonderful progress. Better knowledge of the
causes and mechanisms of many rheumatic diseases allowed offering
innovative and effective treatments and now we can see clearly the benefits
for our patients.
Once again, this Congress does not only encourage the Young Arab
Rheumatologists, but is also a platform for all Rheumatologists in the
region to join and share their constructive views and significant expertise.
I look forward to being able to personally greet you once again.
Thanking you in advance,
Dr. Jamal Al Saleh
President of the Emirates Society for Rheumatology and past President of
ARLAR
Besides its scientific excellence through the conferences held by eminent
Arabic and foreign speakers, this meeting is the occasion to highlight the
research works led by Arabic departments of rheumatology.
I wish you all an excellent meeting and agreeable stay!
Prof. Abdellah El Maghraoui
President of the Moroccan Society for Rheumatology and current President
of ARLAR

Mission
In a world where alliances of different countries have made significant progress in the practice
of rheumatology by uniting under one umbrella, the time has come to form such a league in the
Arab world. It is our desire to facilitate the growth of the Pan Arab Rheumatology league through
improving research collaboration, patient education, and continuous professional development
of rheumatologists in the Arab countries.
We also take on initiatives from societies, individuals, and others stakeholders. The mission of
ARLAR is to represent Arab Rheumatologists as one of the top regional rheumatology leagues
in patient care, research, and education and promote joint and bone health and care through:
• Knowledge transmission, including dissemination of research and encouragement of best
practices
• Professional development and leadership in health policy
ARLAR, re-established in 2014 from the biennial meeting of Pan Arab Rheumatology, in its
current iteration, has organizational roots reaching back to 1995. The goals of the ARLAR
include advancing professional camaraderie, research and training to improve the health of
Arabs with rheumatic diseases. The ARLAR is composed of over 500 members throughout all 22
Arab League countries. As of today, ARLAR comprises seventeen Rheumatology Associations.
Vision
To be an internationally recognized, regional professional league.
Objectives
• To nourish previous achievements of Pan Arab Rheumatology League
• To facilitate the growth of the Pan Arab Rheumatology League
• To reset the Pan Arab Rheumatology long term goals for the next decade to position the
league as an internationally recognized scientific and professional power.

Mot de Bienvenue
Mot de Bienvenue
Chers collègues,
Chers partenaires,
Chers partenaires,
